After discussion, it was moved by Utecht, seconded by Coppini <br /> and unanimously voted that Pure Oil Co. be authorized to remove <br /> their building at 1525 Larpenteur Avenue between Snelling and <br /> A.rona. <br /> It was moved by Coppini, seconded by Warkentien and unanimously <br /> voted that Pure Oil Company's application for permit to erect <br /> a $28,000.00, estimated value, service station at 1695 Arona <br /> between Larpenteur and Crawford be approved. <br />Signs It was moved by Nilsen, seconded by Warkentien and unanimously <br /> voted that application for permit to erect 2 signs each 7-1~2' <br /> high x 25' long, flat against the brick walls, from the Tom <br /> Thumb Food Market at 1705 No. Snelling be approved, <br />Ponding Area Ljungren's letter of August 11th to the Minnesota Highway Dept. <br /> was read. It stated the Village of Falcon Heights grants per- <br /> mission to the Minnesota Highway Department to make soil auger <br /> borings in the vicinity of the Snelling Avenue - Idaho Avenue <br /> Ponding area. Borings to be used in the study of a drainage sys- <br /> tem in conjunction with the Larpenteur Avenue separation. <br />W. F. H. It was suggested that the Clerk write Mr, C. L. Larson, Chair- <br />playground man of the West Falcon Heights Playground Committee, asking <br /> that he attend the Council Meeting as soon as convenient for the <br /> purpose of reporting on their committee's progress. <br />Minutes It was moved by Utecht, seconded by Nilsen and unanimously voted <br /> that the Minutes of May 7th, 1959, be corrected to include <br /> "Shanley Accident Claims After discussion, it was moved by <br /> Shavor, seconded by Utecht and unanimously voted that the <br /> Village Attorney be authorized to advise the Mutual Service <br /> Casualty Insurance Company to assert Governmental Immunity." <br />Hermes Letter of August 6th from Harry S. ~3ronson~ County Engineer, <br />Greenhouse was read. It stateds .Milner W. Carley & Associates advised <br />Driveway the Village of Falcon Heights expected to construct Prior Avenue <br /> within the next two years. Under these circumstances, the <br /> County will provide the opening in the Larpenteur Avenue media <br /> .strip as requested at a*~proximately station 6!t ~ 80. <br />Fuel Oil Utecht moved that the Thorn Coal and Oil Company be engaged to <br /> furnish the Village with fuel oil at 11.8¢ per gallon for the <br /> 1959-60 heating season. Seconded by Shavor and carried. <br />Req. #157 It was moved by Coppini, seconded by Shavor that requisition <br /> #157 for the Fire Department be approved at Warkentien's discre- <br /> tion. Unanimously carried. <br />Snell. Larp. Letter of July 30th written by E. J. Pennig to E. J. McCubrey, <br />Intersection Highway District Office, 1250 University Avenue, St. Paul, was <br /> read. Mr. Pennig's letter outlined his su~*gestions for elimina- <br /> tion of traffic problems at this intersection. <br /> Utecht moved that the Mayor be instructed to write the Ramsey <br /> County Engineering Department regarding speed limits on <br /> Larpenteur Avenue as discussed by him. Seconded by Shavor and <br /> carried. <br />Assessments Burton C. Spear, Dir., Ramsey Co. Mach. Acct. Dept. suggested <br /> that a copy of receipts issued of collections of assessments show- <br />. ing the code number assigned to the affected property by their <br /> department be submi+ ed to their department for. checking purposes <br />
