1292 Streets Due to the illness of NIr. Gage, the street work in Falcon Falcon Woods Woods No. 2 has been delayed, but should be done. Attorney No. 2. Graham will check to see if it is possible for Mr. Gage to contract for the work to be done according to Village Specifi- cations and under the supervision of the Village Engineer, thus saving time, which is of the essence, due. to the late- ness of the season. Intersection A4ayor Nilsen reported on his conference with the Minnesota Snelling &. State Highway Officials and advised that they realize some- Larpenteur thing should be done to widen this intersection and that they hope to cut the islands back this Fall. The County is also urging that this work be done this Fall. Drainage The Highway Department are also proceeding with plans to nut a gravity flow from the grade separation on Snelling to the ponding area between Idaho and Iowa. Their borings showed good seepage possibilities. They plan to cut the drainage pond down ]~ feet. Their plans at present would involve a fifteen to twenty thousand dollar expenditure by the Village as against a thirty to forty thousand dollar expenditure by the State - the State to pay the City of St. Paul the entire cost of enlarging the Hoyt Avenue Storm Sewer to an extent that would permit pumping during the peak load.
