REGULAR AdEETING T.4AY 12, 1960. <br />~~eeting was called to order at 7s10 P. ?:R., the following Council rdembers being <br />present: Harold C. Nilsen, r~4ayor; Paul Coppini, Trustee; V'~illis m`yarkentien, <br />Trustee and Wm. R. Utecht, Clerk. Also present were Wm. E. Olsen, 'T'reasurer; <br />Otto Bonestroo, Engineer; and Ethel E. Ydhite, Deputy Clerk and Deputy Treasurer. <br />~bsentt George Shavor, Trustee. <br />Minutes of the Special meeting of "~4ay 3rd were approved as submitted. <br />Sinking After discussion, it was moved by Utecht, seconded by Coppini and <br />Fund unanimously voted to adopt the following resolution: <br />RESOLUTION REGARDING INVESTMENT OF SANITARY SEWER #1 SINKING ACC'?UNT <br />FUNDSs <br />1109 <br />WHEREAS the First National Bank of St. Paul is holding in safekeeping <br />X19,000, face value of 3-1/!t~ Treasury notes due ~~ay 15th, 1960 for <br />Sanitary Sewer System #1 Sinking Fund account; and <br />WHEREAS these funds will not be needed un til a few days before July <br />1st, 1960 to meet the payment of interest due July 1st, 1960 on the <br />Sanitary Sewer System #1 Bonds of the Village; <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VII,LAGE COUNCIL OF FALCON HEIGHTS, <br />PdINNESO TA ; <br /> The First National Bank of St. Paul is hereby authorized and directed <br /> to invest the proceeds of the X19,000. 3-1/1~~ Treasury Notes which <br /> will be paid on May 15th, 1960 in U. S. Treasury Bills due June 16th, <br /> 1960, and to hold the said Treasury Bills in safekeeping for +.he <br /> Sanitary Sewer System ##1 Sinking Fund Account, remitting any excess <br /> directly to the Village Treasurer. <br />Variance It was moved by Warkentien, seconded by Utecht and unanimously voted <br /> that R. L. Duethman, 1906 No. Albert, be granted a variance from <br /> Section 5-30 C, Ordinance 10, to permit the construction of a redwood <br /> privacy fence as per sketch submitted. <br />Vacation John O'Keefe was present and objected to the Petition being called <br />Salminen "Petition signed by John O'Keefe and others" because he did not insti- <br />Petition gate the petition. Itgayor Nilsen assured O'Keefe that the names on the <br /> petition would be read in the order signed the night of the Special <br /> Hearing. <br />Sewer Letter from P. T. Ellerman was read. <br />Rental. <br />Vacation It was agreed that ~e7rs. 1F7hite would take one week of her vacation <br /> starting ?donday June 13th, and the other week starting Monday, August 29th. <br />Watermain Letter from Vim. J. Molin, regarding installation of watermain on Snelling, <br /> north of Ruggles, was referred to Engineer Bonestroo for study and <br /> recommendation. <br /> After discussion during which Bonestroo stated 100,000 wells in the <br /> ~Retropolitan Area are expected to dry up this year, Warkentien moved <br /> that the Village Council hold a Public Hearing to alert the people <br /> to the possibility of extending Village Viatermairs to those areas of <br /> the Village which are not now serviced by public water; and that the <br />
