<br />SPECIAL MEETING SEPTEMBER 12, 1960.
<br />Meeting was called to order at 7:00 P. M., the following Council Members being
<br />presents Harold C. Nilsen, Mayor; George J, Shavor, Trustee; Willis Warkentien,
<br />Trustee and Paul Coppini, Trustee. Also present were Wm. E. Olsen, Treasurer;
<br />Otto Bonestroo and 3rad Limberg, Village Engineers; and Ethel E. White, Deputy
<br />Clerk and Deputy Treasurer.. Absent: Wm. R. Utecht.
<br />The Minutes of the regular meeting of August 25th were approved as submitted.
<br />Fire Dept. Letter from Gordon Nelson, Fire Chief, advising that equipment
<br />Equipment which had bF'en loaned to a resident had been returned in bad
<br />condition, was read. After discussion, it was moved by Nilsen,
<br />seconded by Shavor and unanimously voted that said resident be
<br />billed for the hydrant wrench at X8:95 and the adapter at 966.50,
<br />replacement cost from Minnesota Fire Extinguisher Company.
<br />Gas Rates Message from E. V. Bergstrom, Northern States Power Company was
<br />read. It advised the difference in rate between Falcon Heights
<br />and St. Paul is now some~rhere between 12 and 13~ due to the fact
<br />that they sell more gas per foot of line in St. Paul. He offerred
<br />to appear before the Council to give a more detailed explanation
<br />if desired. It was decided the Council would like to have Mr.
<br />Bergstrom in for a discussion of the gas rate at a fu±.ure date.
<br />Hamline .Ave. Copy of letter of September 8th written by Otto Bonestroo to the
<br />Larpenteur Ramsey County Engineer was read. Letter read, in part, as
<br />to Hoyt follows: "Some time ago we asked for an investigation by the
<br />County relative to resurfacing Hamline Avenue from Larpenteur
<br />to Hoyt in lieu of the extensive storm sewer installation under
<br />contract by St. Paul. As you know, the Village of Falcon Heights
<br />is financing 9688,000.00 of the project. In addition, the existing
<br />2Lt" culverts naralelling Hamline will no longer be necessary and
<br />might represent a hazard for traffic and safety."
<br />Resurfacing At 7.:30 P. Pd., Mayor Nilsen asked if there were any more bids
