Bids are to be opened at 7:30 P. '~,~. <br /> Tuesday, November 22nd, at a special meeting of the <br /> council to be set for that time and date. The above <br /> resolution was moved by Warkentien, seconded by Coppini <br /> and unanimously carried. <br />Water connection, Letters regarding the 1-1/2" connection for Dr. Spano were <br />Dr. Spano given to Mayor Nilsen who will contact the water department. <br />Police Warkentien reported that Officer Henry J. Dachtera telephoned <br /> Police Commissioner, Don Arndt, at 8:20 P. M. Monday, <br /> October 17th, advising he wasn't interested in a full-time <br /> police position. After receipt of Dachtera's decision, Owen <br /> Harmer was hired as the third police officer, employment to <br /> start October 20th. <br />Requisition Requisition #171 for the fire department was approved on <br /> motion by Warkentien, seconded by Shavor and carried. <br />Sewer Permits There was a discussion of procedures involved in issuing sewer <br /> permits. No action was taken. <br />Waterline There was a discussion of procedures involved in the in- <br />Inst~ lations stallation of waterlines in the same ditch as sewer lines on <br /> streets where the watermain is not yet available and the <br /> Deputy Clerk was instructed to contact St. Paul to see if <br /> there was a passibility ~' having our plumbing inspector depu- <br /> tized to make the waterline inspection in these instances. <br />Pump Inspection, Advisability of setting up a permit fee to cover the cost of <br />water installations having our plumbing inspector check to see how pumps were <br /> handled where connections to the city water have been made <br /> was discussed, but no action taken. <br />Bills On motion by Warkentien, seconded by Shavor, the following <br /> bills were ordered paid: <br />GENEF~IL FUND: <br />Minnesota Fire Ex.
