1531 <br />REGULAR P:~PEETING NOVEP`BER 22nd, 1960. <br />1 <br />Meeting was called to order at 7:00 P. M., the following Council Members being <br />present: Harold C. Nilsen, Mayor; George Shavor, Trustee; Willis Vrarkentien, <br />Trustee. Also present were Frank N. Graham, Village Attorney; Wm. E. Olsen, <br />Treasurer; Otto Bonestroo and Brad Lemberg, Engineers; and Ethel E. White, Deputy <br />Clerk and Deputy Treasurer. Absent Wm, R. Utecht, Clerk and Paul Conpini, Trustee. <br />Squad-car There was a general discussion until 7:30 P. AEI, when P~~Iayor <br />bids Nilsen read the advertisment forbids for a squad .car as published <br />in the Rose Tribune. Bids were opened, and after deducting the <br />trade-in value of the present squad car, the net prices received <br />were as follows: <br />Pdidway Ford <br />Ron Saxon Ford <br />Hetfield Queenan <br />Jerry's Dodge City <br />X1223.00 <br />1271~.l~8 <br />1la6l~. 78 <br />1219.23 <br />All bids were accompanied. by a certified check in the amount of <br />10~ of the bid except Hetfield Queenan's bid. <br />1 <br />~gayor Nilsen moved that the bids be referred to Trustee Warkentien <br />and. Police Chief Don Arndt for tabulation and to the Village <br />Attorney for checking with the request that they report to the <br />Council at it's next meeting, December 8th. Seconded by Shavor <br />and carried. <br />P~~Pinutes The minutes of the regular meeting of October 27th were approved <br />as submitted. <br />The minutes of the regular meeting of November 10th were approved <br />as corrected. (Page 1, "t4axine Martin's address was corrected to <br />read 18l~0 Simpson. ) <br />1 <br />Squad Car Tdayor Nilsen reported he had been asked by some residents why the <br />Village didn't purchase a Station Wagon rather than a car for <br />Police work. Arndt advised a Station Wagon would be better for <br />Ambulance Service, but that if anyone were very ill or badly in- <br />jured, one man alone couldn't handle it properly. It would take <br />two men. Our men work alone, In case of a bad accident or <br />serious illness, the Ramsey County Sheriffs are always available <br />and. equipped to take over, Arndt feels that the regular car is <br />better suited to policing, and that by traffic control, the <br />Village has cut the number of accidents to a minimum. <br />Trailer House Henry Schroeder, resident of the trailer on Killmer's property, <br />1750 W. Larpenteur, was present an d showed the Council tax forms <br />he had received from the Secretary of State. Attorney Graham <br />advised °~.4r. Schroeder the forms had nothing to do with the <br />Village but that he should fill them in and return them to the <br />Secretary of State, Mayor Nilsen advised fl4r. Schroeder it <br />wouldn't be necessary for him to wait as no discussion regarding <br />the trailer was on the agenda. <br />Signs, Edgetown ;"~.+fr. Stewart of Edgetown Paint was present. He was advised the <br />Paint Village Planner did not approve signs painted on the building, <br />
