She <br />asked why the pumping station hadn't been built. Mayor <br />Nilsen .said that St. Paul had agreed to let the Village <br />hook up to the St. Anthony Water Tank which would give <br />much better pressure, without any upkeep. This will be <br />done when it can be. Anyone West of Snelling who connects <br />in the future will be ..obliged to pay the pro-rata <br />connection charge based on meter size. She asked when <br />the new zoning ordinance would be completed and Mayor <br />Nilsen advised they expected it to be completed by <br />October 1st. <br />Licenses After discussion, it was moved by Warkentien, seconded by <br />Shavor and unanimously voted to renew the following licensees <br />Cigarette Robert C. Blomberg Drug, 1583 No. Hamline. <br />Krois Vending~State Fair Car Wash, Snelling & Larpenteur. <br />Filling Sta. Len Kraske & Dennis Mattson, Cities Service Filling <br />Station, 1670 No. Snelling. <br />Fire Dept. It was moved by Warkentien, seconded by Nilsen and unan- <br />imously voted to authorize the Clerk to sign the following <br />letter to the American Oi.l Companys "This is to release <br />you from any and all responsibility should one of our <br />firemen get hurt at the o31. fire drill which our Volunteer <br />Fire Department intends to hold on your premises if your <br />permission is granted.' <br />Volunteer .Application of Jerome Renchin for membership in the Volunteer <br />Fireman Fire Department was discussed and the Deputy Clerk asked <br />to request Fire Chief Gordon Nelson to be present at the <br />next Council Meeting. <br />Zoning It was moved by Shavor, seconded by Warkentien and unan- <br />imously voted that the comprehensive land use and zoning <br />ordinance be referred back to the Planning Commission for <br />such informal Public Hearings as they deem necessary, and <br />to consider suggestions made by the Council for modification. <br />L. N. Hermes Letter from L. H. Conlon and message from Attorney Galvin were <br />read and discussed. No action taken. <br />llfater Main, Bonestroo, Rosene's letter of July 13th 19b1 was read, in <br />Tatum, Esti- part, as follows: Watermain extension on Tatum Street <br />mate of cost from the end of the existing line to terminate at Roselawn: <br />The main would be placed in the boulevard.
