lbb6 <br />Defense agency, subject to the direction and control of <br />the mayor. The Civil Defense agency shall be organized <br />into such divisions and c;ureaus, consistent with state •~nd local <br />Civil Defense plans, as the director deems necessary to <br />provide for the efficient performance of local Civil Defense <br />functions during a Civil Defense emergency.' Seconded by <br />Stone and. carried. <br />Stone moved that the salary of the Civil Defense Director <br />be fixed at X600.00 per year, to be paid at the rate of <br />X50.00 a month, effective January 1st, 1962. Seconded by <br />Pdortenson and carried. <br />FHES play- Lemberg reported he would consult with Tieso Electric regard- <br />ground ing the installation of the lights. <br />Truck ~~rarkentien moved. that the Village rent narking space for the <br />truck from Farmer's Union Crain Terminal Association at a <br />flat rate of X10.00 a month for six months. Seconded by <br />Stone and carried. <br />Christmas a was moved by Z°tarkentien, seconded by Shavor and voted to <br />Tree issue Permit #95 to Al. Hermes of Hermes Floral Company, <br />License permitting the .sale of Christmas trees at their a~~dress for <br /> the 1961 season. <br />Sinking Attorney Graham's letter regarding sale of securities to pay <br />Fund. the X58,759.17 due on the Sanitary Sewer 3onds was read. <br /> Letter advised they will check with the County Auditor to see <br /> how much money will be available from taxes about December <br /> 15th and then proceed with arrangements to nay what is due on <br /> the Sanitary Sewer 3onds. <br />Variance There was a discussion regarding request for variance to Hermit <br /> construction of a fence at 1811 Simpson. No action was taken <br /> inasmuch as -proposed fence will be approved in the near <br /> ordinace if adopted December 7th. <br />Dogs There was a discussion regarding the Dog Ordinance and Nilsen <br /> proposed a meeting early in the year to permit the public to <br /> air their views. <br />Sewer Stone moved adoption of Qrdinance No. 63 amending Ordinance No. <br />Rental l~8. Seconded by V`kTarkentien and. carried. <br />Police Officer Archie Nordeen was introduced to the Council. Clerk <br />°.ti2ortenson administered the Oath of Office. <br />Attorney's Attorney Calvin reported on the zoning ordinance, court cases, <br />Report and manner of handling payment on the Sanitary Sewer 3onds. <br />Snell-Idaho Stone moved that the Village purchase a cast iron, one r.~om, <br />Playground stove. at a price of approximately X25.00 for use in heating the <br />warming house. Seconded by ~Varkentien and carried. <br />
