<br />NCW THEREFORE, BE TT RESOLVED by the Village Council of
<br />Falcon Heights, Minnesotan
<br />(1) The 2Jlayor and Clerk are hereby authorized and directed
<br />to enter into the attached contract with Alexander Con-
<br />struction Company, Inc., 116111. Hiawatha Avenue, Minneapolis,
<br />6, Minnesota, in the name of the Village of Falcon Heights
<br />for the improvement of Crawford Avenue from Arona Avenue
<br />to Simpson Avenue by resurfacing Crawford Avenue and con-
<br />struction of curbs and gutters, according to the plans and
<br />specifications therefor approved by the Village Council and
<br />on file in the office of the Village Clerk.
<br />(2) The Village Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to
<br />return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with
<br />their bids, except the deposits of the successful bidder and
<br />the next two lowest bidders shall be retained until the con-
<br />tract has been signed.
<br />Adopted by the Village Council this 21st day of March, 1962,
<br />upon motion by Stone, seconded by Warkentien and unanimously
<br />carried.
<br />Alleys F. Ehrenkranz, 15011 Crawford, asked why the Village didn't
<br />plow alleys, stating she had had to park her car on the
<br />street for about a month because it was impossible to get
<br />into her garage due to deep snow, and, later, ruts. Mayor
<br />Nilsen said the Council took the stand that inasmuch as
<br />3/!1 of the Village Residents didn't have alleys, it wouldn't
<br />be equitable to ask them to share the cost of plowing the
<br />alleys for the l~l1 who did have alleys.
