1751 <br />"-~~SA, New, Treasurer Olsen reported receipt of a check in the amount of <br />21~-101-02: ~?_312.07 from the Mate Highway Department to apply on State <br />Aid Project No. 2I~-101-02. <br />Polling Attorney Galvin reported he had been in touch with Joel '!'ierney, <br />Places: Attorney for the University of t~.Rinnesota, who .advised they were <br />checking to see vrhat space, if any, they Trrould have available <br />for use as a polling place; that they were looking into the <br />matter of ins~zrance and vrould write Attorney Galvin when their <br />check-up has been completed. <br />League of Le+.,ter of ?:?ay 6th from '~~rs. Dorothy i~2iller, Secretary, Falcon <br />'~lomen Hei~-hts League of '"iomen Voters, was read. It advised, in ~~art, <br />Voters: that '?~s. James J. Jenkins of 2190 Folwell eras elected Presi- <br />dent; '.hrs. Karl Vander Horck of 1853 No. Rascal was elected <br />Local Item Chairman; Recreation ti^~as adopted as their local study <br />item for 1962-63. <br />Intersection Engineer Lemberg advised that there is a model of the Snelling- <br />Larpenteur Larpenteur Interchange on display in the Highway Building. <br />& Snelling: <br />Special At 8 P. ~-L, the regular meeting was recessed for the purpose of <br />nearing Land. conducting the _caring on the Land Use Study. Clerk ~~~ortenson <br />Use Study: read copy of Notice as Published in the Rose Tribune. <br />'Sayor Nilsen stated that the Village of falcon Heights h.ad al- <br />ways tried to ~~ive notice of meetings -more than legally re- <br />quired, because we want to have people come to these meetings <br />and express their opinions. <br />Attorney Galvin stated that when Ordinance 6~~ was adopted, it <br />was suggested that the Village have a land use plan. The Man <br />was drawn up by Agidvrest Research, Inc.; was gone over by Bones- <br />troo, ?iosene and Associates and the present proposal is the <br />result of their study. The Village has the pourer to acquire <br />real estate to build streets. It is necessary to prescribe <br />where the streets will go. Then the proposed street plan can <br />be filed with the Registrar of Deeds. Then, if anything is built <br />on the land shown as the proposed street, the Village would have <br />to pay a fair market value for the land needed for the street, <br />but nothing for the buildings or improvements. Galvin read. from <br />pale 2 of the letter sent to all property owners in the affected <br />area. <br />Nilsen said the Vi7_la~-e Council and the :Manning Commission had <br />sent two or three ,years on the comprehensive zoning plan and that <br />they were now getting down to detailed engineering. Copies of the <br />proposed plan were distributed. to all present. <br />Lemberg explained engineering details. <br />The '.Mayor asked for comments from the assembly. <br />A.
