MINUTES <br />REGULAR CITY COUNCII. MEETING <br />JULY 9, 1986 <br />PAGE 4 <br />Associates, $17,500.00, Dahlen & Dwyer, Inc., $13,150.00, and Davis & <br />Lagerman, Inc., $8,450.00. Following the discussion Chenoweth moved, <br />seconded by Wallin, hiring of Davis & Lagerman, Inc., contingent upon an <br />opinion from the city attorney regarding any conflict of interest, and <br />checking of references. Motion carried unanimously. <br />TERRY IVERSON APPOINTED FULL TIME FIREFIGHTER/PUBLIC SAFETY OFFICER <br />Council discussed at length the attributes of the candidates for the <br />position, concurred both were excellent candidates, and commented on the <br />fine fob done by the consulting firm. Chenoweth then moved, seconded by <br />Ciernia, appointment of Terry Iverson to the position. Upon a vote being <br />taken the following voted in favor thereof: Baldwin, Hard, Ciernia, and <br />Chenoweth, and the following voted against the same: None. Wallin <br />abstained. Motion carried. <br />SALARY ESTABLISHID FOR TERRY IVERSON <br />Ciernia moved, seconded by Chenoweth, Iverson~s yearly salary be set at <br />$23,000.00 plus fringe benefits. Motion carried unanimously. <br />PRESENTATION OF LATEST SITE PLAN AND REQUEST FOR VARIANCE FOR PROPOSID <br />OFFICE BUILDING AT 201 W. LARPENTEUR <br />David Olson, owner of the property at 2061 W. Larpenteur, presented the <br />site plan and explained that due to the eonf'iguration of the plan a <br />variance will be needed to construct the building ten feet from the west <br />lot line. Following the discussion Chenoweth moved, seconded by Hard, <br />approval oP the variance request (as recommended by the Planning <br />Commission) contingent upon the Clerk/Administrators negotiations on <br />landseaping/land swapping purchase of land/easement to the north. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />ENGINEERING PERFORMANCE UPDATE <br />Baldwin informed he and Barnes had met with representatives of Bonestroo & <br />Associates to discuss performance problems, and the firm is now aware the <br />City may make some changes in the delegating of duties on future <br />pro3ects requiring an engineer. <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />Ciernia moved, seconded by Wallin, adjournment at 9:35 P.M.
