MINUTES <br />REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />OCTOBER 8, 1986 <br />PAGE 4 <br />OPTICOM TO BE INSTALLID ON LARPENTEUR AT ARONA <br />Council discussed whether or not it would be advantageous to install <br />opticom at Larpenteur and Arona with the proposed street reconstruction, <br />after which Ciernia moved, seconded by Wallin, installation of the system <br />to control east/west Larpenteur traffic only at a cost of $6,800. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />"NO OVERNIGHT PARKING" SIGN TO BE INSTALLED AT PARK <br />Baldwin explained a resident had parked his car in the parking lot at the <br />community park with a "for sale" sign attached, a citation was issued <br />under city code which prohibits use of the park after 11:00 P.M. and he <br />felt it should be posted or tickets not be issued. Ciernia moved, <br />seconded by Chenoweth, that "No Overnight Parking" signs be installed at <br />the park. Motion carried unanimously. <br />ENGINEERING CONCERNS <br />Hard commented on a drainage problem in his neighborhood and expressed <br />eo Hearn that the city no longer has an engineer on call for this sort of <br />"day to day" problem. Baldwin stressed Barnes can refer problems to an <br />engineer, if necessary, but felt many items are referred to engineers when <br />it is not necessary. <br />RESOLUTION R-86-43 COMMENDING JUDY MCCLEERY WHO HAS BEEN NAMED TEACHER OF <br />THE YEAR <br />Hard moved, seconded by Ciernia, adoption of Resolution R-86-~3 commending <br />Judy McCleery (a Falcon Heights resident and teacher in the Roseville <br />School District) on the occasion of being named teacher of the year. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />RESOLUTION R-86-43 <br />A RESOLUTION COMMENDING JUDY MCCLEERY ON THE OCCASION <br />OF BEING NAMED TEACHER OF THE YEAR <br />PROPOSED INFORMATIONAL MEETING ON SNELLING AVENUE CONSTRUCTION <br />Council directed Barnes to arrange for representatives of MN/DOT to <br />present an informational meeting (preferably November 19, 1986) for <br />property owners who will be affected by the reconstruction of Snelling <br />Avenue. <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />Hard moved, seconded by Ciernia, adjournment at 10:00 P.M.
