Recreation equipment means play apparatus such as swing sets and slides, sandboxes, poles <br />for nets, unoccupied boats and trailers not exceeding 25 feet in length, picnic tables, lawn chairs, <br />barbecue stands and similar equipment or structures, but not including tree houses, swimming <br />pools, playhouses exceeding 25 square feet in floor area, or sheds utilized for storage of <br />equipment. <br />Recreational vehicle means any vehicle or structure designed and used for temporary, <br />seasonal human living quarters which meets all of the following qualifications: <br />(1) It is not used as the permanent residence of the owner or occupant; <br />(2) It is used for temporary living quarters by the owner or occupant while engaged in <br />recreation or vacation activities; <br />(3) It is towed or self-propelled on public streets or highways incidental to such recreation <br />or vacation activities; <br />(4) Examples of such vehicles include van campers, tent camping trailers, self-contained <br />travel trailers, pick-up campers, camping buses, and self-contained self-propelled truck <br />chassis mounted vehicles providing living accommodations. <br />Renewable energy easement means an easement that limits the height or location, or both, of <br />permissible development on the burdened land in terms of a structure or vegetation, or both, for <br />the purpose of providing access for the benefited land to wind or sunlight passing over the <br />burdened land. <br />Renewable energy system means a solar energy or wind energy system. Passive systems that <br />serve dual functions, such as greenhouses or windows, are not considered renewable energy <br />systems. <br />Research laboratory means an establishment or other facility for carrying on an <br />investigation in the natural, physical, or social sciences, which may include engineering and <br />product development. This definition does not include research laboratories operated by a school <br />or educational institution. Research laboratories owned or operated by schools or educational <br />institutions shall be defined as schools. <br />Retail business uses means stores and shops selling personal carriers or goods over a <br />counter. <br />Roadside sales stand means a structure used only for the display and sale of products with <br />no space for customers within the structure, on a seasonal basis. <br />Roof pitch means the final exterior slope of a building roof typically, but not exclusively, <br />expressed as a ratio of the distance, in inches, of vertical "rise" to the distance, in inches, of <br />horizontal "run," such as 3:12, 9:12, 12:12. <br />Sadomasochistic abuse means flagellation or torture by or upon a person clad in <br />undergarments, a mask or bizarre costume, or the condition of being fettered, bound or otherwise <br />physically restrained on the part of one so clothed. <br />Sale, garage, means a sale of used household and personal items conducted on residential <br />premises, where the property sold consists of items owned by the occupant of the premises at <br />which the sale takes place, or by friends of such occupant, and where the sale is conducted by <br />such occupant or friends. Items for sale shall not have been purchased for resale or received on <br />consignment for the purpose of resale. <br />Sale, residential boutique means the sale of handcrafted items conducted on residential
