MINUTES REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING ~~aa DECEMBER 10, 1986 ~ V PAGE 2 concurred that since there has not been a high incidence of accidents at the site, and only one complaint had been registered regarding a traffic hazard, that the sign may not be necessary. Barnes was directed to request Ramsey County to remove the sign. EDMUND WAGNER, 1340 W. CALIFORNIA, LETTER OBJECTING TO REMOVING SNOW DEPOSITED ON THE HAMLINE AVE. SIDEWALK BY COUNTY SNOWPLOWS Mr. Wagner explained he has no problem removing snow from his sidewalks following a normal snowfall, however, felt it impossible to remove snow deposited on the Hamline sidewalk by County plows. Following a discussion, Council concurred Mr. Wagner should make a reasonable effort to remove the snow, and if he feels accumulated snow from plowing constitutes a danger to pedestrian or vehicular traffic he should contact City Hall. Ciernia suggested it might be appropriate to amend the code to require reasonable snow removal efforts for walks abuting collector streets. CONDITIONAL USE FOR SIGN REPLACEMENT AT SAVEMORE STATION, 1350 W. LARPENTEUR, NOT REQUIRED Baldwin presented a conditional use request from Savemore, new owner of the filling station at 1350 W. Larpenteur, to replace the existing HCO sign with a temporary Savemore sign. Staff had determined the conditional use necessary due to the fact that the business in an "EB" Zone, however, Council felt a conditional use would not be necessary as the existing pole will be used and only the copy changed. Wallin moved, seconded by Chenoweth, granting the request for the temporary sign at the Savemore Station. Motion carried unanimously. WORKSHOP WITH SOLID WASTE ADVISORY COMMITTEE SCHEDULED FOR JANUARY 14, 1986, 8:30 P.M. Council briefly discussed the Solid Waste Advisory Committee's report, after which a workshop with the committee was scheduled for January 14, 1987 at 8:30 P.M. PROPOSED RESOLUTION RELATING TO REVISION, OPERATION, & MAINTENANCE OF PRE-EMPTION SYSTEM AT SNELLING & LARPENTEUR ADOPTED Ciernia moved, seconded by Wallin, adoption of Resolution R-86-49 and authorizing Baldwin and Barnes to sign the agreement. Motion carried unanimously. RESOLUTION R-86-49 A RESOLUTION RELATING TO REVISION, OPERATION, AND MAINTENANCE OF PRE-EMPTION SYSTEM AT SNELLING & LARPENTEUR PROPOSED RESOLUTION RELATING TO COST, MAINTENANCE, AND OPERATION OF TRAFFIC SIGNALS ON SNELLING AVENUE AND AT LARPENTEUR AND ARONA Ciernia moved, seconded by Wallin, adoption of Resolsution R-86-50, and authorizing Baldwin and Barnes to sign the agreement. Motion carried unanimously.
