MINUTES <br />REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />FEBRUARY 25, 1987 <br />PAGE 3 <br />the need to complete the street before State Fair, long work days will be <br />required, and directed that MN/DOT and the contractor be informed Council <br />understands the need for, and approves, construction from 6:00 A.M. to <br />10:00 P.M. The residents on Snelling Avenue in the construction area also <br />will be informed. <br />UPDATE ON POSSIBLE DEVELOPMENT OF SE CORNER LARPENTEUR/SHELLING <br />Baldwin commented on the letter from Winfield Developments, Inc. <br />indicating an interest in redeveloping only the retail portion of the <br />area, and informed a proposal is also being submitted by Stuart <br />Corporation. <br />BALDWIN TO DRAFT RESOLUTION COMMENDING RETIRED FIRE CHIEF RENCHIN -TO BE <br />REVIEWED 3/11/87 <br />Chenoweth asked that Council consider drafting a resolution commending <br />Renchin for his service to the community, and Council concurred. Baldwin <br />will draft the document for review at the March 11th meeting. <br />COUNCIL APPROVES PARTICIPATION IN CURB SIDE RECYCLING <br />After a brief discussion, Hard moved, seconded by Wallin, authorizing <br />Barnes and Baldwin to enter into an agreement with Supercycle, Inc. to <br />provide curb side pick-up at a cost of approximately $417.00 per month. <br />Motion carried unanimously. Barnes was directed to submit grant <br />applications to Ramsey County and Metropolitan Council for assistance in <br />funding the project and authorized staff to prepare and distribute <br />posters, flyers, etc. <br />RESIGNATION OF NANCY ANDERSON, 1812 MOORE, FROM HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION <br />Hard moved, seconded by Wallin, acceptance of the resignation of Nancy <br />Anderson from the Human Rights Commission. Motion carried unanimously. <br />APPOINTMENT OF TSIPPI WRAY, 1828 ARONA, TO HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION <br />Hard moved, seconded by Wallin, appointment of Tsippi Wray, 1828 Arona, to <br />the Human Rights Commission to complete the term vacated by the <br />resignation of Nancy Anderson (12/31/89). Motion carried unanimously. <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />Ciernia moved, seconded by Chenoweth, adjournment at 9:22 P.M.
