<br />MINUTES <br />REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />MARCH 9, 1988 <br />Mayor Baldwin called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. <br />ALL MEMBERS PRESENT <br />Baldwin, Wallin, Bush, Ciernia, and P. Chenoweth. Also present were Gedde, Wiessner <br />and S. Chenoweth. <br />MINUTES OF FEBRUARY 24, 1988 APPROVED <br />Council approved the Minutes of February 24, 1988 as corrected. <br />ADDENDUM TO AGENDAS <br />Council added Item E(6), March 7th Planning Commission Minutes, to the Consent Agenda <br />and Item F(10), Parking Problem on St. Mary's Street to the Policy Agenda. <br />CONSENT AGENDA APPROVED <br />Council approved the following Consent Agenda: <br /> 1. Fire and Rescue Reports <br /> 2. Disbursements <br /> a. General Disbursements, $25,087.52 <br /> b. Sinking Fund, $783.00 <br /> c. Payroll, $7,344.70 <br /> d. Maier Stewart & Associates Billing 12/27/87 - 1/30/88, $601.40 <br /> 3. Appointment of Patricia M. Kosters, 1730 W. Larpenteur, to the Human <br /> Rights Commission, Term to Expire 12/31/90 <br /> 4. Reappointment of Tom Montain, 1850 Holton, (Term to Expire 12/31/89) <br /> and Robert Gehrz, 2285 Folwell (Term to Expire 12/31/90), to the <br /> Parks and Recreation Commission <br /> 5. Licenses <br /> 6. Human Rights Commission Minutes for February 18, 1988 <br /> 7. March 7th Planning Commission Minutes <br />CIATTI'S PARKING PROBLEM - WEST SIDE OF ST, MARY'S STREET TO BE POSTED "NO <br />PARKING" <br />Planner John Uban presented a proposed amendment to the City's Code relating to <br />parking regulations (memorandum dated January 17, 1986), and four alternate plans <br />for increasing parking for Ciatti's Restaurant, 1600 West Larpenteur. Council <br />concurred that a permanent solution to the parking problem must be found, but that <br />the abutting residential neighborhood needs immediate relief. Wiessner presented <br />an update on the meeting held March 4th which was attended by representatives of <br />Harvest States, Ciatti's, Hermes Center, Buck's Unpainted Furniture, the City <br />Engineer, and Dennis Smith, representing the St. Mary's Street residents. She felt <br />the neighboring businesses were willing to cooperate in a temporary solution to the <br />parking problem but were not interested in providing long range parking for Ciatti's. <br />
