MINUTES <br />APRIL 13, 1988 <br />PAGE 3 <br />PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED CODE AMENDMENT' TO ALLOW POOL HALLS <br />AND RETAIL LIQiAR SIRES AS Q~NDITIONAL USES IN A B-2 RETAIL <br />BUSINESS DISTRICT' <br />Baldwin opened the hearing at 8:00 P.M. and presented the <br />Affidavit of Publication. Wallin explained that the Planning <br />Commission had voted in favor of Sections 1 through 3 of the <br />City Attorney's proposed code amendment, and to add pool halls <br />and liquor stores as conditional uses in a B-2 District with <br />restrictions as listed in the April 4th minutes. Gedde stressed. <br />the importance of adopting the criteria for conditional uses as <br />listed in his proposed amendment in order to meet State <br />Statutes. There being no one wishing to be heard, the hearing <br />was closed at 8:30 P.M. Baldwin explained that the published <br />hearing notice related to adding pool halls and liquor stores as <br />conditional uses in a Br2 District and action should be taken <br />only on those items. Wallin moved adoption of Ordinance 0-88-6 <br />which carried unanimously. <br />ORDINANCE 0-88-6 <br />AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO CONDITIONAL USES IN <br />THE B~-2 RETAIL BUSINESS DISTRICT AND AMENDING <br />SECTION 9-1.01 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE <br />PUBLIC HEARING ON ON ATTORNEY'S PROPOSED CODE AMENDMENT <br />SCHEDULID FOR 7:15 P.M., 5/11/88 <br />Council directed that staff prepare published notice for a <br />public hearing to be held at 7:15 P.M., May 11, 1988 at which <br />time the proposed amendments to Section 9-7.01, Subd 1, and <br />Section 9-15.04 will be discussed. <br />CODE AMENDMENT - FORMAT CHANGES IN LICENSING SECTION, FEE <br />CHANGES, AND CHANGING LICENSING PERIOD TO CALENDAR YEAR <br />Wiessner presented a proposed amendment to Chapter 5 of the code <br />relating to licensing which would change the licensing period to <br />the calendar year, increase scene hall rental fees, and format <br />changes to improve readability. Ciernia moved adoption of <br />Ordinance 0-88-7 and the motion carried unanimously. <br />oRDINANCE o-s8-7 <br />AN ORDINANCE DELETING LICENSE AND PERMIT FEES FROM <br />PART 5-13 AND PLACING LICENSE, PE~IIT AND OTHER FEES <br />IN SECTION 5-14 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE <br />PROPOSID AMENDMENTS REGARDING RECTJLATION OF DOGS (ITEM F-6) AND <br />PENALTIES FOR CODE VIOLATIONS (ITEM F-7) DEFERRED TO 4/27/88 <br />Gedde requested Agenda Items F-6 and F-7 be deferred to allow <br />time for the attorneys to review the proposed amendments. <br />21 <br />
