MINUTES <br />REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />MAY 11, 1988 <br />Baldwin called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. <br />PRESENT <br />Ciernia, Wallin, Bush, and Baldwin. Also present were Gedde, <br />Maurer, Wiessner, and S. Chenoweth. <br />ABSENT <br />P. Chenoweth. <br />MINUTES OF APRIL 27, 1988 APPROVED <br />Council approved the Minutes of April 27, 1988 as presented. <br />CONSENT AGENDA APPROVED <br />The following Consent Agenda was approved. <br />1. Fire/Ambulance Reports <br />2. Disbursements <br />a. General Disbursements $22,238.00 <br />b. Payroll, $7,654.52 <br />3. Commission Minutes <br />a. Planning Commission Minutes of 5/2/88 <br />b. Park & Recreation Minutes of 4/11/88 <br />c. Human Rights Commission Minutes of 3/24/88 <br />4. Ramsey County Sheriff's Report for April, 1988 <br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST FROM RICHARD G. JOHNSON, 1815 TATUM, FOR <br />ACCESSORY USE PERMIT FOR UTILITY SHED <br />After explaining that the Planning Commission had unanimously <br />recommended approval of the request at their May 2, 1988 <br />meeting, Wallin moved approval of the request from Richard G. <br />Johnson, 1815 Tatum, for an Accessory Use Permit to construct a <br />utility shed. Motion carried unanimously. <br />APPROVAL OF VARIANCE REQUEST FROM PETER OLIN, 1958 SUMMER, TO <br />CONSTRUCT AN ADDITION 1-1/2 FEET BEYOND THE SETBACK <br />Wallin informed Council that the Planning Commission had <br />unanimously recommended granting the variance requested by Peter <br />Olin, 1958 Summer, to construct an addition to his residence one <br />and one-half feet into the setback. Wallin then moved approval <br />of the variance based on the following findings: (1) the lot <br />size is unique and unusual, (2) owner appears to have attempted <br />to minimize the encroachment into the setback, (3) addition will <br />not significantly impair light and air, and (4) preserves the <br />rights of the property owner for the best use of his square <br />footage. Motion carried unanimously. <br />VARIANCE GRANTED TO JAMES A. FRISELL, 1953 SUMMER, TO ALLOW <br />EXPANSION OF GARAGE TO A TWO CAR GARAGE <br />~~ <br />Wallin explained that the Planning Commission had thoroughly <br />
