MINUTES <br />REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />OCTOBER 12, 1988 <br />Baldwin convened the meeting at 7:00 P. M. <br />ALL MEMBERS PRESENT <br />Ciernia, P. Chenoweth, Wallin, Bush and Baldwin. Also present <br />were Gedde, Wiessner and S. Chenoweth <br />MINUTES OF SEPTEMBER 28, 1988 APPROVED <br />Council approved the Minutes of September 28, 1988 as presented. <br />CONSENT AGENDA APPROVED <br />Council approved the following Consent Agenda: <br />1. Disbursements <br /> a. General Disbursements through October 12, 1988, <br /> $20, 148.73 <br /> b. Sinking Fund, $216,65 <br /> c. Statement from Jensen, Hicken, Gedde & Soucie for <br /> August, 1988, $1, 925.50 <br />2. Resignation of Patricia Kosters fro m the Human Rights <br /> Commission <br />3. Appointment of G. James Olson, 1816 Asbury, to Human <br /> Rights Commission <br />4. Planning Commission Minutes of .Octo ber 3, 1988 <br />5. Cancellation of Check #22218 dated 9/16/88 Issued to <br /> City of Brooklyn Park in the amount of $60.00 <br />6. .1989 Law Enforcement Agreement with Ramsey County <br /> Sheriff's Department <br />7. Licenses <br />CITY TO NEGOTIATE WITH PROPOSED DEVELOPER OF PROPERTY AT 2061 W. <br />LARPENTEUR REGARDING POSSIBLE PURCHASE OF CITY PROPER`Y <br />Architect George Cundy and Robert Westlund, Jr., Westlund <br />Construction, were in attendance requesting the City consider <br />sale of a 25 foot strip of City land abutting 2061 W. <br />Larpenteur. A developer is proposing construction of a three <br />story office building on that property and would like additional <br />land to allow for more landscaping. Following a discussion, <br />Council indicated they were open to an offer on the land, and <br />directed Wiessner to negotiate with the developer regarding a <br />purchase price. <br />ADOPTION OF ORDINANCE RELATING TO CHRISTMAS TREE SALES LOTS <br />Council reviewed the proposed ordinance which would establish a <br />separate category for Christmas tree lots with uniform <br />regulations applying to all lots. Sam Jacobs, 1489 W. Hoyt, <br />representing the Falcon Heights/Lauderdale Lions Club, stated <br />they would not object to obtaining a license for their sales <br />lot, but did feel it would be strange to require sign permits at <br />$15.00 per sign when the funds come back into the community. He <br />requested that Council consider exempting the club from the sign <br />permit requirement. <br />5 f. <br />
