MINUTES <br />OCTOBER 12, 1988 <br />PAGE 2 <br />Joyce Gimmested, owner of B and J Midway Floral, felt it was <br />unfair to allow the Lions to put signs near other retail <br />businesses with tree sales lots, as it definitely reduced the <br />sales at those lots last year. Following the discussion, Wallin <br />moved adoption of Ordinance 0-88-15 which carried unanimously. <br />ORDINANCE 0-88-15 <br />AN ORDINANCE REMOVING CHRISTMAS TREE SALES LOTS FROM <br />SECTION 5-6.01 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE AND ESTABLISHING <br />SECTION 5-6.02 REGULATING CHRISTMAS TREE SALES LOTS <br />STAFF TO RESEARCH OTHER COMMUNITIES REGARDING EXEMPTION OF <br />NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS FOR DISCUSSION AT 11/9 MEETING <br />Staff was directed to obtain information from other communities <br />regarding exemption of non-profit organizations from sign <br />permits. The matter will be discussed further at the November <br />9th meeting. <br />REQUEST FOR REIMBURSEMENT FOR REPLACEMENT OF SOIL AND GRASS ON <br />BOULEVARD AT 1728 TATUM <br />Council discussed a reimbursement request from Edna Cowles, 1728 <br />Tatum, for replacement of the boulevard sod in front of her <br />residence. Wiessner explained the City did plan to replace <br />approximately one-half of the sod in the spring of 1989; <br />however, did not intend to remove and replace the existing soil <br />as Mrs. Cowles has done. After a discussion, Chenoweth moved <br />that Mrs. Cowles be reimbursed at a rate equal to 50~ of the <br />typical cost of the per lot sod replacement on Tatum. The <br />reimbursement will be made in the spring of 1989 after the cost <br />has been determined. <br />ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING FINAL PAYMENT FOR ST. MARY'S <br />STREET IMPROVEMENT <br />Ciernia moved adoption of Resolution R-88-18 which carried <br />unanimously. <br />RESOLUTION R-88-18 <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING FINAL PAYMENT OF $1,339.38 TO <br />BITUMINOIUS CONSULTING & CONTRACTING FOR THE 1988 ST. MARY'S <br />STREET IMPROVEMENT <br />ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION REGARDING ASSESSMENT OF ST. MARY'S ST. <br />PARKING IMPROVEMEMTS <br />Ciernia moved adoption of Resolution R-88-19 which carried <br />unanimously. <br />RESOLUTION R-88-19 <br />f7 <br />A RESOLUTION FOR THE ASSESSMENT OF ST.
