Chenoweth questioned the need for a Safety Deposit Box since <br /> the City now has a fire proof vault and others indicated they <br /> had similar thoughts. Baldwin and Wies sner will check on the <br /> box presently rented at North Star Bank and determine whether or <br /> not it is needed. <br />DESIGNATION OF OFFICIAL CITY NEWSPAPER <br />Wallin moved the designation of Post Publications (Focus <br />Newspaper) as the official city newspaper for 1989. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />1989 COUNCIL ASSIGNMENTS APPROVED <br />Baldwin presented the proposed Council assignments after which <br />Bush moved acceptance of the assignments. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />CONNIE LASSER REAPPOINTED TO PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION FOR <br />THIRD TERM <br />Bush explained that Lasser had served a one year term and one <br />three year term, and is willing to serve another three year term <br />to expire 12/31/91. Since City Code stipulates members may <br />serve only two consecutive terms, the Parks and Recreation <br />Commission has requested that an exception be made in this <br />case. P. Chenoweth moved approval of the three year appointment <br />which carried unanimously. <br />APPLICATION FROM DENNIS HUNT FOR LIQUOR/SUNDAY LIQUOR LICENSE <br />WITHDRAWN AT APPLICANT'S REQUEST <br />Baldwin explained that Dennis Hunt, Bullseye Plaza, had <br />submitted plans for a restaurant/bar and an application for a <br />liquor license for the establishment, but has now requested the <br />item be withdrawn from the agenda. <br />PARKING VARIANCE REQUEST FROM DENNIS HUNT DELAYED AWAITING <br />ACTION BY PLANNING COMMISSION <br />Wallin informed Council that at the January 9th Planning <br />Commission meeting Mr. Hunt had indicated he had changed the <br />plans for his bar/restaurant/deli and now wants to establish a <br />take-out deli with limited seating as phase one with the <br />possible addition of the bar/restaurant as phase two. Wallin <br />explained the Commission took no action as they felt the overall <br />picture needed to be examined and will be discussed further at <br />the January 23rd meeting providing adequate information is <br />provided by Mr. Hunt. Council deferred the matter until the <br />Commission has made a recommendation. <br />Council briefly discussed comments Mr. Hunt had made at the <br />Planning Commission Meeting regarding the high taxes on his <br />building which makes rental difficult. P. Chenoweth asked that <br />the record show that Mr. Hunt should have been aware of the <br />~~ <br />
