MINUTES 30a <br />REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />MAY 24, 1989 <br />Baldwin called the meeting to order at 7:00 P. M. <br />PRESENT <br />Baldwin, Bush, P. Chenoweth, and Ciernia. Also present were <br />Wiessner and S. Chenoweth. <br />ABSENT <br />Wallin. <br />MINUTES OF MAY 9, 1989 APPROVED <br />Council approved the Minutes of May 9, 1989 as corrected. <br />APPROVAL OF CONSENT AGENDA <br />Council accepted the following Consent Agenda: <br /> 1. Disbursements <br /> a. General Disbursements through 5/24/89, $85,762.67 <br /> b. Payroll, 5/1/89 - 5/15/89, $9,970.46 <br /> 2. Fire/Ambulance Reports <br /> 3. Cancellation of Check #22173 <br /> 4. Solid Waste Minutes of May 4, 1989 <br /> 5. <br />6. Licenses <br />Ramsey County Sheriff's Report for April, 1989 <br /> 7. Purchase of Riding Mower and Snow Bucket <br /> 8. Commission Appointments/Resignation <br /> a. Appointment of Manley E. Olson to Human Rights <br /> Commission, 3 Year Term to Expire 12/31/91 <br /> b. Appointment of Michael Smallpage to Parks and <br /> Recreation Commission, 3 Year Term to Expire <br /> 12/31/91 <br /> c. Resignation of Benno Salewski from Solid Waste <br /> Commission <br /> 9. Approval of Request from Ramsey County that City Concur <br /> with the Next Phase of the Hamline Avenue Project <br />APPROVAL OF PLANS TO PURCHASE NEW AMBULANCE <br />Council reviwed the Fire Department's proposed timeline and bid <br />specifications for purchase of new Type 111 Ambulance to replace <br />the present 1979 model. Chief Leo Lindig was present to answer <br />questions and following a brief discussion Council approved the <br />specifications, timeline and manner of payment. <br />AWARDING OF BID FOR 1989 SEALCOATING <br />Baldwin presented the bid tabulation and commented on the fact <br />that the low bidder had made an error in the amount quoted and <br />was requesting a change order to reflect the increased cost. <br />Mark G. Bury of Bituminous Roadways, Inc. explained he had <br />neglected to include the costs for the asphalt distributors <br />which would increase the bid by approximately $1,300.00. <br />Council discussed the fact that Bituminous Roadways has done <br />satisfactory work for the City previously and that with the <br />
