MINUTES <br />SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />NOVEMBER 29, 1989 <br />Acting Mayor Ciernia convened the meeting at 7:10 P.M. <br /> <br />t <br />PRESENT <br />Bush, P. Chenoweth, Ciernia and Wallin. Also present were <br />Wiessner and S. Chenoweth <br />ABSENT <br />Baldwin <br />11/8/89 CANVASSING BOARD MINUTES APPROVED <br />The Canvassing Board Minutes dated November 8, 1989 were <br />approved by unanimous consent. <br />11/8/89 CITY COUNCIL MINUTES APPROVED <br />The Minutes of the November 8, 1989 regular Council Meeting were <br />approved by unanimous consent. <br />CONSENT AGENDA APPROVED <br />Council unanimously approved the following Consent Agenda: <br />1. Disbursements <br />a. General Disbursements through 11/29/89, $65,671.43 <br />b. Payroll from 11/1/89-11/15/89, $10,040.12 <br />2. Commission Minutes <br />a. Parks and Recreation Minutes of October 9, 1989 <br />b. Solid Waste Minutes of November 1, 1989 <br />3. Resignations from Parks and Recreation Commission <br />a. Kirsten Eckberg, 1549 W. Hoyt <br />b. Robert D. Gehrz, 2285 Folwell <br />4. U. S. Olympic Festival '90 Torch Run <br />5. Agreement with Roseville Area Schools re: Falcon <br />Heights School Playground <br />6. Licenses: #384, As You Like It Construction, and #388, <br />AAA Plumbing by Newstrom <br />POLICE CONTRACT WITH CITY OF ROSEVILLE APPROVED <br />Wiessner explained that the final draft of the contract has only <br />one significant change, i.e., to guarantee a five year minimum <br />contract term. Following a brief discussion, Wallin moved <br />approval of the contract for police service to begin January 1, <br />1990, and authorizing Ciernia and Wiessner to sign the same. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />APPROVAL OF INCREASED VOTING HOURS FOR MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS <br />Staff explained that there have been some complaints regarding <br />the inconvenience of the present 12:00 Noon to 8:00 P.M. voting <br />hours for municipal elections, and recommended that the hours be <br /> <br />
