~~ <br /> <br />Upon motion by Rysgaard, seconded by Shavor, the bills were <br />voted paid. <br />Street signs Rechtiene recommended the use of street signs of various types. <br />Matteson suggested that some one on the safety committee <br />contact Mr. Darrell for his recommendations regarding these <br />signs, approximate cost, where available, and whether it would <br />lie advisable to have the village limits identified. <br />Town Hall The council felt that the disposal of the ownership of the town <br />Ownership hall should be made as soon as possible. Shavor was to ask <br />Lindig to contact tl-~e clerk of Lauderdale regarding this matter. <br />U. of Minn. Frank Graham presented two requests for rezoning by the Univer- <br />requests for sity of Minnesota dated Oct. 26, 1949, which had been delivered <br />rezoning to .him by ~. Bradford, attorney for the university, covering <br />property on Snelling Avenue south of Hollywood Court. Shavor <br />moved that in accordance with Section 12 (e) of Ordinance ~8 <br />the council set Tuesday November 22, 1949 at 8:00 p.m. as the <br />date of a public herring regarding rezoning and that the deputy <br />clerk be directed to post notices as required by the ordinance. <br />Lotion seconded by Rysgaard and carried. <br />Mrs. Pdary Barthel Graham presented a letter written by Lewis L. Anderson, attorney <br />representing Mrs. Zulary Barthel, advising that his client under- <br />. stood a building permit would not be issued on Lots 14 and 15 on <br />Pascal between Gordon and Ruggles inasmuch as the village was <br />reserving same for drainage of surface water. After considerable <br />discussion, it was the opinion of the council that these lots <br />were part of a natural waterway and to allow any building on <br />these lots until the drainage problem is solved would be a <br />violation of the code. Shavor moved that the building in- <br />spector be instructed not to mssue a building permit on these <br />lots and that Frank Graham be requested to answer lLr. Ander- <br />son~s letter advising him of the action taken by the council <br />and the reasons therefor. Itotion seconded by Rysgaard and carried. <br />Building Ordi- Reichow, building inspector, requested the building ordinance be <br />nance be amend. amended to include the following: <br />1. Location of garages on property <br />2. Maximum height of fences <br />3. Amount of the lot that can be used for the building. <br />4• riinimum building fee be set at X3.00 instead of ,~y1.50. <br />Reichow further recommended that all plumbers and electricians <br />be licensed and be required to obtain a permit for any plumb- <br />ing or electrical work done in the village. It was agreed that <br />Matteson was to meet with Reichow regarding this matter. <br />Build. Insp. Reichow asked that the council reconsider the fee paid to the <br />fee increased inspector at this time. After considerable discussion, Shavor <br />moved that the inspectors fee on building permits be revised <br />from 75p to 90~ of the permit fee collected, effective <br />November 1, 1949. Motion seconded by Rysgaard and carried. <br />
