Seconded by Rekstad and carried by unanimous vote. <br />General Liability Liability insurance for the Village, with respect to various <br />Insurance Village activities, was discussed. Shavor moved that the Village <br />purchase a Comprehensive General Liability Policy; bodily injury <br />liability - ~25,000~~50,000 limits; property damage liability - <br />~5,000%25,000 limits; annual premium, X169.31, in accordance with <br />the offer of the .~lutuel Service Insurance Companies, in their <br />letter of Jan. 10, 1950. Rekstad seconded and motion carried. <br />Census figures to Shavor called attention to the fact that census figures for the <br />be checked with Village will determine to what extent the village will share in <br />area supervisor cigarette and liquor tax distributions, and that status of <br />students in quonset huts will be an important factor. Agreed <br />that Shavor would cor_tact area supervisor and report on the <br />mai.ter as soon as possible. <br />To terminate Town Now that .;~eetings may be hold at cur new village hall, Shavor moved <br />Hall expense shay- that the Clerk be directed to write the Village of Ecseville, <br />ing agreement. terminating any agreement or arrangement with respect to sharing <br />expenses or upkeep of the Town Hall after December 31, 1949. <br />.lotion seconded by Rekstad and carried unanimously. <br />Safety deposit Clerk brought up the matter of keeping certificates of title <br />box authorized. and other valuable papers of the Village in a safe place, stating <br />that a safety deposit box at the Falcon Heights State Bank can be <br />rented for X6.04 per year. rdoved by Stewart, seconded by Rekstad, <br />and motion carried. <br />Public Safety The mrzt~er of appointing a public safety commissioner was con- <br />Commissioner siderad and Don Arnt was introduced to the council and recommended <br />for the job. After some discussion, it was agreed that the matter <br />be laid over until the following meeting. <br />'Need Commissioner Stewart moved appointment of Dirk Postema as deed Commissioner <br />appointed. for the year 1950. Rekstad seconded. Carried by unanimous vote <br />and Postema declared duly appointed to office. <br />Village Assessor Henry rioved that Gilliam Torgerson be recommended to serve as <br />Village assessor. Seconded by Shavor and carried unanimously. <br />Light glare from Seaborr_ reported motorists have complained of glare from lights at <br />new filling station. new filling station, at Hamline and Larpenteur, and that lights <br />have since been lowered.
