Seconded by Stewart and motion carried by <br />unanimous vote. <br />TiYill advertise On recommendation of the Fire Protection committee, Shavor <br />for Fire Hose moved that the Clerk be directed to advertise for bids for <br />bids. 1,500 feet of 2~-inch double-3acket fire hose, the bids to <br />be received on the 26th day of March at 1¢44 Lnrpenteur Avenue <br />West. Lindig seconded and so ordered. <br />To post roads Street Commissioner Seaborn reported he had asked the County <br />against heavy to post roads barring heavy traffic. <br />traffic. <br />Fire Chief's After discussion of the Fire Chief's salary and allowances, <br />allowances Lindig moved that a committee of three, consisting of <br />George Shavor, Chairman, and~Harry dnderson and Ralph Van <br />Hoven, be appointed to investigate the power, laundry and <br />other allowances and to bring in their recommendation at <br />the next meeting. Stewart seconded and motion carried. <br />Ft~~her report Stewart brought up the matter of securing a report from the <br />requested from three members of the Public Safety Committee who had voted <br />Publio Safety to retain the present police setup, with the idea that their <br />committee. report might be considered along with the report and <br />recommendation of the other two committee members as given <br />by Chairman Arndt at a previous meeting. It was decided to <br />have Mr. Arndt ask the three members for their report to sub- <br />mit to the council at the next meeting. <br />Sanitary ~ Storm Commissioner Seaborn reported it would be impossible for the <br />Sewers. Village to establish our own plant as we have no stream to <br />run it into, and that this servioe can be had only through <br />St Paul or Minneapolis. <br />Widening oP Rekstad brought up the matter of widening Larpenteur avenue <br />Larpenteur is front of business places, and referred to a near-accident <br />proposed. occurring recently in this area as illustrating the need. In <br />this oonnection, Seaborn acid he had discussed with the County <br />Engineer a proposal to string steel sable on posts on both sides <br />of Larpenteur fn the business area to prevent motorists from <br />making improper turns. <br />Adjournment: On motion, the meeting ad3ourned at 10:50 pm. <br />Approved: Clerk <br />~ ~ ~~~ <br />~[ayor <br />
