Stewart, Clerk <br />Ralph Van Hoven, Treasurer <br />Frank N. Graham, Attorney <br />Meeting called to order at 7:40 pm. <br />Plumbing and As pre-arranged, Messrs. A.V. winterer, Gerald Buetow and John <br />Heating Rysgaard were present for the purpose of discussing with the <br /> Council matters regarding heating and plumbing. Aa to how often <br /> the boiler should be cleaned out, Mr. Winterer stated that would <br /> depend on use. Position of the boiler with respect to cleaning <br /> wea also discussed. As to question oP adequacy of the heating <br /> plant, Mr. Winterer said that when the building dries out and <br /> when a proper ceiling is installed, there should be sufficient <br /> heat. Fire Chief Swanson stated that in order to maintain a 70- <br /> dogree temperature in the dormitory that the apartment temperature <br /> has to be kept at 80 degrees. Winterer suggested this can be <br /> taken care of by proper regulation of dampers. On replacing blades <br /> in heaters downstairs, Mr. Winterer said he would be glad to do <br />` this when desired. Mr. Buetow agreed to furnish a letter on <br /> insulation he would recommend for the ceiling. <br />Minutes read. Minutes of regular meeting, April 25, 1950, were approved as <br /> read. <br />County Surveyor Mr. A. D, Crompton, County Surveyor, and his assistant, Mr. R. Acker, <br />re Storm Sewers were present to discuss proposed storm sewers. Mr. Crompton's letter <br /> of April 26, 1950, was read, quoting estimates as follows: (1) <br /> Proposed storm sewer on Arona from Larpenteur to Crawford, including <br /> 4 catch basins at Crawford and Arona, and placing of 15" sewer to <br /> connect with catch basin in front of Pure Oil Station, X5,100.00. <br /> (2) Proposed continuance of sewer from present outlet on Arona one- <br /> half block south of Larpenteur to Wilson hole, including cntoh basin <br /> at northeast corner of California and Arona, X7,200.00. (3) Proposed <br /> draining of low area north of Garden between Pascal and Holton east <br /> to Hamlin®, connecting with County sewer running into Godfrey hold, <br /> X15,000. Mr. Crompton suggested postponing stora- sews r_on Arona <br />... <br />Suggests post- as he plans to ask the County Bonrd to appropriate money to widen <br />poning. Larpenteur, also to plane storm sewer on Larpenteur Prom Cleveland <br /> to Hemline, ao that ad3acent areas north and south of Larpenteur <br /> could be turned into this abbrm sewer. Crompton also submitted a <br /> proposed street plan northwest of Larpenteur and Snelling, whe rein <br /> Walter Magee owns a 12-Foot strip adjacent to Fry Street. The <br /> problem of parking in front of business houses was discussed.
