Letter of May 8 from the Fire Under- <br />writers Inspection Bureau on Falcon Heights fire protection was read. <br />Blomberg cigarette Application of Blomberg Drug to sell cigarettes at retail, for <br />license appli- 6-month period finding June 30, 1950, was presented. Stewart <br />cation. moved approval of application. Seconded by Henry and carried. <br />Robert Pooler The clerk reported receiving inquiry from Robert Pooler, <br />popcorn wagon. 1421 Midway Parkway, St Paul, about operating a pop corn <br />trailer. Attorney Graham stated that an ordinance covering the <br />licensing of this and other activities is being prepared, and <br />the clsrk was asked to so inf orm Pooler. <br />O'Connell letter Letter of May 1, 1950, from R. J. O'Connell, 1522 Meat Idaho, <br />to Public Safety regarding a near-accident and traff is problem at Idaho and Arond <br />Coannittee was read. Lindig moved that the latter be referred to the <br />Public Safety Committee for their recommendation. The matter of <br />widening Fry street waa discussed and referred to Attorney Graham <br />who will eontaot Niemann and arrange a meeting with Mr. Magee. <br />Appointment with After discussion, Shavor moved to have Committee Chairman, Lynn <br />University re Matteson, request by letter an appointment with Mr. Middlebrook <br />lease. to discuss the matter of a lease, and in the event of no reply <br />within a reasonable time, that the committee be authorized to <br />take further action. <br />Towel containers Harry Anderson reported that he waa unable to get thru regular <br />aourosa the towel oontainera with swinging tops. Hsnry will <br />try stores in Minneapolis. Suggestion on installing a drinking <br />fountain was also considered. <br />
