Snelling, appeared before the council in conneotion <br />special permit. with requesting a sp ecial permit for construction of a <br />portable screen house. Stated it would be used in conneotion <br />with an outside ~i~r laQ~ and would bs put up on rear of the <br />lot which they own;d wFi~c~2'ad~oins on the east the lot on <br />which their dwelling is located. Rekstad moved sp ecial permit <br />be granted, Shavor seconded, and carried unanimously. <br />'JV.P. Mock Reichow also reported he had request from W.P. Mock, 1397 Larpenteur, <br />screen house for a apeaial permit for a soreen house in the rear of the lot <br />special permit. which he owns ad~soent to 1397 Larpenteur. Reldstad moved granting <br />of special permit. Lindig seconded and motion carried unanimously. <br />St Ma~-ys Street ~1. L. Hermes inquired as to status of proposed work on St Marys <br />Street. Discussion followed as to proposed development on St Marys <br />and Fry streets. Henry will contact the county surveyor and get <br />a revised estimate on cost oP gre~ding and moving dirt onto Pillage <br />Hall and Fire Station grounds. <br />Fire Underwriters Rysgaard read a letter from W.C. Freitag, of the Fire Underwriters <br />set July 1, 1950 Inspection Bureau, requesting assurance by July 1, 1950, that .the <br />for meeting Underwriters' requirements as listed will be complied with, <br />requirements. including addition of one paid fireman, the 1,500-watts= light <br />plant, and deluge set_or portable turret noLale. The Fire Chief <br />stated that a 1,000-watt plant would not handle smoke eatinguiaher, <br />and after demonstration, the Fire Protection committee agreed that <br />a 1,500-watt plant was needed. Rysgaard said the Fire Department <br />would sea about making a deluge set to meat requirements. It <br />was decided to consider other listed items at a later meeting. <br />Seaborn appointed Due to Harry Anderson's illness, Shavor moved appointment o£ <br />temporarily on Stan Seaborn temporarily to membership on the Fire Protection <br />Fire Protection committee. Seconded by Henry and carried by unanimous vote. <br />oommittee. <br />Additional tanks In connection with Lauderdale Pire runs, .Swanson mentioned the <br />or service For possibility of needing additional tanks or service, sad that <br />Lauderdale runs. oharges should be based on "per piece of equipment" to protect <br />us against these possible extra coats. Stewart moved that the <br />question be referred to John Rysgaard. Henry seoonded and <br />motion oarried. <br />Sending resuscitator Referring to the swimming season, Fire Chief Swanson <br />when Dolled for. mentioned the possibility of one man on duty receiving a call <br />from a nearby community for the resusoitator. Asked if the <br />council would authorise sending the resuscitator to the assns <br />of the aocident in such oases. Henry moved that the paid man <br />on duty take the resusoitator to the assns and that a volunteer <br />replace the paid man at the station. Lindig seconded and <br />motion carried. <br />To answer alarms, Swanson also asked what the council would authorise with <br />Fair grounds de reference to answering alarms to the Fair grounds and Farm <br />Farm Sohool.
