<br />Meeting called to order at 7:45 pm. Minutes of Regular meeting, July 11, of
<br />Board of Review meeting, July 12 and of Regular meeting July 13, were read. With
<br />reference to minutes of July 13 meeting, Shavor pointed out that a representative from
<br />the local paper was present throughout this entire meeting, and that $tre Chief Swanson
<br />was merely requested to leave the meeting while matters affecting his employment were
<br />discussed. He was present during the discussion. Shavor moved that the minutes of
<br />acid meetings be approved, inoluding minutes of the July 13 meeting as corrected.

<br />Lindig moved payment of bills, seconded by Rekatad and carried.
<br />Payment for Stewart reported that upon securing credit refund Prom the Auel
<br />metal Pold- Equipment Company in the amount of $11.76, that payment of $295.00

<br />was made as authorized previously by the co unoil.
<br />Street work Letter was read from the County Surveyor as to work performed by the
<br />by County, County on Village streets during the period May 26 to June 25, 1950,
<br />May 26 to amounting to $1,220.74, leaving a balance of $30.65 in our 1950
<br />June 25, 1950. allotment.
<br />Maximum expen- C.W. Eckman, of the Fire Protection committee, inquired as to what
<br />ditures with- maximum expenditures were without advertising for bide, especially
<br />out bids. on street work. Question was discussed as to whether apportionment
<br />from the County's road and bridge fund is sub3ect to bidding require-
<br />ment. Rekatad said Markham had also raised question about roads,
<br />including road work ~d snow plowing, where charges exceed $500.
<br />Attorney Graham will check statute and report.
<br />Status of N. L. Hermes asked when work on St B~arys street would be completed.
<br />St Marys Said he and others on St Marys street want to complete work on thei r
<br />street work lawns and boulevards, and inquired as to establishing grade and
<br />driveways. Henry will check with Seaborn.
<br />Teen alters Bud Weiss, 1824 N. Simpson, together with a number of teen age girls
<br />group want and their mothers, appeared bef ore the counoil. Mr. `~Teiss spoke in
<br />hall. behalf of teen agars in the community securing use of the Village
<br />hall for a canteen and dancing chaperoned by their parents. The
<br />group was informed to line up their proposed program and to have a
<br />representative present details to the council for action at the next
<br />meeting. Newsreporter Hanson being present, promised to give some
