1°4 <br />Shavor moved that the Planning Commission be authorized to <br />proceed in preparing preliminary dimensional maps showing the <br />street layouts in the area bounded by Holton, Roselawn, Hemline <br />and Garden, and also in the E2, SFr4 of Sec. 16. Rekstad <br />seconded and motion carried unanimously. <br />Hall wanted Robert off. Lundbohm,.1441 W. Larpenteur, representing the Falcon <br />for square Heights Congregational Combined Men's Club and Service Club, <br />dancing. requested use of the Village Hall for square dances to be held <br />on the third Friday of each month from 8 pm. to 11 pm., beginning <br />in September and continuing thru May. Mr. Lundbohm explained that <br />their organisation is a fellowship group and non-profit organization. <br />He also stated that the dances would be limited to eight squares or <br />64 people. Before acting on Mr. Lundbohm's request, it was on <br />recommendation of Rekstad, decided to consult Architect Bue~ow as to <br />whether c onstruction of the building will withstand the vibration <br />of square danoing to this extent. <br />Private Harold Geroux, Patrol Service, 1827 Carl, Lauderdale, appeared <br />Patrol before the council as to hie proposal to provide patrol service <br />Service for Falcon Hei ghts. Said he had talked with the businessmen <br />and that they were in favor of some kind of protection and were <br />willing to assume part of its cost. Mr. Geroux stated his patrol <br />service could furnish ti-e village ei ght hours service a night, <br />seven nights a week, for X395.00 a month with radio and telephone <br />figured in. It was agreed to refer the matter to the Public <br />Safety Committee for consideration and report. <br />Traffic A. H. Strane, 1489 W. Idaho, said he was appearing in behalf of <br />problem, residents near the intersection of Aroma and west Idaho, about <br />Aroma & heavy motor traffic moving north and south on Aroma, especi~ lly <br />1f. Idaho. during shopping periods, and the need of protecting children by <br />putting up suitable traffio signs. R.J. O'Connell, 1522 ~1. <br />Idaho, also spoke in support of Strane's request. They were in- <br />formed that the Public Safety committee would be asked to in- <br />vestigats and make a recommendation. <br />Aroma allay Harry Dunham reported the County had furnished figures on the <br />improvement cost of improving the alle~between Idaho and California from. <br />Aroma to Pascal, and asked if the council would authorize the <br />interested property owners to make and pay for the proposed <br />imp rovement themselves according to specifications that would <br />be satisfactory to our street commissioner. Attorney Graham <br />will check and advise. <br />Alley improve- E. J. Kane, 1482 W. Idaho, said he represented about 60 per <br />ment, Idaho- cent of the property owners on the south side of Idaho and <br />Iowa. north side of Iowa. Bgr. Kane asked if the Village is responsible <br />for upkeep of the alleys the same as the streets, oP if alley <br />improvements are to be taken care of by special assessment against <br />the benefited property owners. The question was referred to <br />our attorney for checking. <br />Village maps After discussion, Shavor moved that Lorris Williams, Planning <br />Commission chairman, be authorized to purchase two sets of maps <br />of 'the Village, one set for the use of the Village council, and <br />one for use of the Street Commissioner. Seconded by Henry and <br />carried unanimously. <br />~' <br />
