X49 <br />J'xrgenson's Building Inspector Reichow reported on contacting the owner <br />tar paper of the tar paper shack oa north Albert. The owner, he said, <br />shack was not sure whether he would try to maintain the building or <br />tear it down. Told Reichow he is conside ring putting on siding <br />and painting to make the structure more presentable. <br />Communications: <br />Letter of August 4 from Attorney Graham re private fire <br />contracts. <br />Sheriff Gibbons letter relative to Civil Defense meeting <br />at Hamm's Brewery, August 15. <br />Treasurer's Yan Hovers reported that payment should be made August 15, <br />report covering interest on $10,000 tax anticipation certificate <br />of indebtedness from February 15. Also that when the <br />County road bill for period June 26 to July 25, and the next <br />tax settlement are received, possibly within the next few <br />weeks, that he will bring the 1951 budget figures up t~ate. <br />Stating that the Village must oertify its financial ne s <br />for 1951 early in October, he suggested that eaoh department <br />should submit its 1951 budget needs to the council on or be- <br />fore the first meeting of the council in September. <br />Election 3udges The clerk brogght up the matter of appointing election 3udges <br />and clerks. and clerks for the Primary, September 12. Henry moved, seconded <br />by HhaAp; that the following be appointed: <br />Judges: <br />Mrs . <br />Mrs. <br />Bars . <br />Clerks: <br />~drs . <br />Mrs. <br />Verna Gregg, <br />Ethel White <br />Rhodie Arndt <br />$elen Matteson <br />Ethel Ti[~ason <br />Motion carried by unanimous vote and said candidates declared <br />duly appointed to office. <br />Exit signs, Fire Chief Swanson oalled attention to exit signs whidi are <br />uncompleted needed but not as yet installed at the Fire Station, stating <br />work on build- these should be on a separate ci rcuit so if other lights go <br />ing, etc. out the exit lights should stay on. Swanson also reported on <br />a number of things in canneotion with the building that should <br />be taken Dare of, such as, tar coming off roof and dropping <br />on floor, leaks thru roof, windows need caulking, cracked <br />plaster in living quarters, rubbing down walls, adjusting <br />doors, oaulking oracks in building, etc. Swanson also <br />submitted copy of rules and regulations for the Falcon Heights <br />Fire department. The clerk was requested to advise John <br />Rysgaard about building matters that should be taken care of. <br />Greetings Van Hovers inquired as to the council writing a letter to <br />to Harry Harry Anderson who is still in the hospital. Henry moved, <br />. Anderson seconded by Shavor, that the clerk write a letter to Anderson, <br />expressing greetings from the council and their boat wishes <br />for his recovery.
