~' <br />WHEREAS, there is a well developed business section located on <br />Larpenteur Avenue near Snelling Avenue in the Village of Falcon Heights <br />which includes a bank, several stores, the Farmers Union Grain Terminal <br />building and the Village Hall and Fire Station of the Village of <br />Falcon Heights; and <br />WHEREAS, this business section is located in the approximate <br />center of the above-mentioned area and is near the intersection of <br />two fine, well-traveled highways easily accessible to the entire area <br />and would be an ideal location for a United States Post Office; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESULV`r;D, that the Village 6d'uneil of the <br />Village of Falcon Heights, Ramsay County, ~dinnesota, hereby go on <br />record as favoring and requesting the establishment of a United States <br />Post Office near the corner of Larpenteur Avenue and Snelling Avenue, <br />in the Village of Falcon Heights, Ramsey County, Minnesota, and that <br />the Clerk be, and he hereby is, authorized and directed to deliver a <br />Dopy of this resolution to Congressman Eugene J. McCarthy and to <br />Postmaster Arthur A. Van Dyke, and the Mayor and all council men are <br />authorized and directed to do any act or thing which may be necessary, <br />helpful or expedient in having the necessary action taken by the proper <br />authorities for the establishment of such a Post Office. <br />Attorney re issuing Henry read Attorney Graham's letter of October 23, <br />marriage licenses, reporting on these and other matters. <br />leasing Village <br />Hall, Roe Tribune <br />as legal newspaper, <br />Public Employes <br />Retirement act. <br />Piano at Town After discussion, Shavor moved that the Village <br />Hall for sale. advertise the piano which we acquired in division <br />of personal property with Roseville, giving the <br />Village of Roseville liras t chance to purchase it. <br />Lindig seconded. Carried. <br />Ramsey County Letter relative to 1951 dues of X50.00 was again dis- <br />Planning Commission cussed. Henry moved that we refer the question of con- <br />membership tinuing our membership to the Falcon Heights Planning <br /> Commission for their recommendation. Seconded by Shavor <br /> and so ordered. <br /> <br />Fire Department ,'c ~ ~ '. <br />Letter from E: `~i. ~Ecs~iah"'relative Ito the Fire Department <br />Committee. Seaborn committee wasp,read and discussed. Stan Seaborn, being <br />resigns. present, offered his resignation as a member of the <br /> Fire Department Committee due to the fact that the <br /> business he represents now requires him to be out of town <br /> much of the time. Shavor moved that the Council accept <br /> with reluctance Seaborn's resignation and that he be ex- <br /> tended a vote of thanks and appreciation for his work on <br /> the cematittee.
