concerned at a meeting to be held at the Yilla a Hall, at 7:30 PM, <br />g <br />Monday, day 28, 1951, the clerk to notify all concerned by letter. <br />Alley William Torgerson, 1443 Weat California, appeared before the council <br />Improvement about the proposed surfacing of two alleys between California and <br />Larpenteur, running between Albert and Arona. Torgerson asked that <br />the Yillage finance the work and assess the cost against the abutting <br />property owners. Attorney Graham will ftirnish the required petition <br />form and details as to procedure. <br />Permit, Leonard R. A. Keller, of the Keller Corporation, asked to be heard regard- <br />& Pearl Peterson ing the application of Leonard and Pearl Peterson, 2083 N. Lexington, <br />who own the aouth 34 ft. of Lot 6 and all of Lot ?, except the south 17 ft. <br />thereof, Bloak 9, Northome Sec and Addit ion, for a permit to build on said <br />property. Keller was informed th st our building code forbids issuing <br />such permit because of the property being a part of a drainage area. <br />Due t o state highway and county easements, the State Highway Department <br />and the County Engineer will be contacted regarding the matter. <br />5-car garage Building Inspector Reiohow reported receipt of an application for permit <br />permit, Step- to build a 5-car garage on the Stepnitz property described in Ordinance <br />nitz property. No. 11 passed November 30, 1950. Rekstad moved permission b e given the <br />building inspector to issue the permit. Seconded by Stewart and carried <br />unanimously. <br />Street Commissioner Seaborn reported that two only cast iron ornamental street <br />Lights light posts were requested by residents on Albert and Lane and Holton <br />and Lane, but that he pr©pose+d having lights installed on wood poles <br />the same as in other parts of the Yillage. 'The use of wooden poles <br />for th ese lights was approved, provided the poles were put in at <br />designated spots. <br />Playground Seaborn also reported that the County Surveyor had been asked to <br />Improvement determine how much dirt had to be moved for leveling and developing <br />the prop®s ed playground on Yillage property, al so to figures on <br />sumps needed for drainage. <br />Hoyt & In connection with vacating alleys between Hoyt and Iowa, Seaborn <br />Iowa alleys stated the devel®per's attorney had agreed to the vacating request, <br />with proposed turn-around coming into S.E. corner, Lot 1, Block 10, <br />Northome Second Addition - measurement of turn-around to be 30 Peet <br />wide and 30 feet deep. Henry moved that petition be referred to <br />our attorney for checking and advice as to proper procedure. Seconded <br />by Rekstad and carried by unanimous vote. <br />Mutual Fire Asked as to mutual fire protection agreements, Fire Chiesf Swanson re- <br />Protecti®n ported that these were verbal understandings with Spring Lake Park, <br />aid. Lake Johanna and Little Canada. The question of whether the Yillage <br />may enter into written mutual aid agreements with such areas was <br />referred to Attorney Graham. <br />Expenses Chief Swanson asked that the council authorise payment of expenses <br />Fire Dept. of the Fire Chief and one volunteer fireman at the State Fire <br />Convention, Department Aasoeiati®n's ?8th Annual Convention, at Cloquet, ~inneaota, <br />Cloquet June 11, 12 and 13, 1951, with the understanding that a volunteer <br />meamber would attend in turn each year according to date of service. <br />Rekstad moved that said expenses be authorized to Dover the railr®ad <br />fare and $10.00 per day for each delegsd<b. Seconded by Shavor and <br />carri ed unanimously. <br />
