~~~ <br />Reporting Because the Fire Chief is required by statute to report to the <br />Fires State Fire Marshal all fires in the Pillage area where damage <br /> amounts to $25.00 or more, the local newspaper was askad to <br /> urge all residents to notify the Fire Department immediately <br /> where thea~e is any indication ®f fire. <br />Dry cleaners Chief Swanson reported that sample of liquid emptying into <br />c~oeeked for drain from dry cleaners establishment had proved non-inflammable <br />fire hazards by teat. He will oheek and report as to whether the dry cleaners <br /> have corrected fire hazard violations previously called to their <br /> attention. <br />Fire Dept. <br />Salary Letter f n3m Fire Chief Swanson, dated May 5, 1951, on the matter of <br />schedule Fire Department salaries, was read, together with a letter he had <br />disouased received from the Cloquet, Minnesota Fire Chief as to Cloquet provid- <br />ing their Chief with free quarters in the Fire Station plus certain <br />other allowances. Consider able discussion followed based on Fire <br />Department salaries in communities comparable to Falcon Heights. <br />Fire Underwriters Letter Prom the Fire Underwriters relative to third paid <br />letter. man appointment on Fire Department was read. <br />Ordinance APte r discussion, Henry moved the adoption of "Ordinance No. 12, <br />No. 12 An Ordinance Lioenaing and Regulating the Operati®n of Sandwich <br />Stands, Hamburger Stands, Hot Dog Stands, Root Beer Stands, Ice <br />Cream Stands, Soft Drink Stands, Popcorn Wagons, Christmas Tree <br />Lots and Drive-In Businessesc" Seconded by Rekstad and the <br />following vote taken and recorded: <br />Ayes: Henry, Shavor, Rekstad, Stewart. <br />Nays: None. <br />Thereupon, the Mayor declared said ordinance duly adopted by a <br />unanimous vote and directed publication of same. <br />Feb. tax Treasurer Yon Hoven reported receipt of tax settleme~at from <br />settle:aent the County Auditor for period Nov. 1, 1950 to Feb. 28, 1951 in <br />total amount of X6,940.15. <br />Ad3ournment: On motion, the meeting adjourned at 12:50 A.M., May 9, 1951. <br />Approved : C le <br />Mayor <br />
