~~ <br /> <br />STREETS, ALLEYS OR HIGHNIAYS, AND P1~VIDING A PENALTY THEREFOR." <br />Seconded by Henry and the following vote taken and recorded: <br />Ayes: Henry, Shavor, Rekstad, Stewart <br />Nays: None <br />The Mayor then declared said Ordinance duly adopted by a unanimous <br />vote and directed publication of same. <br />Village Hall Lynn Matteson reported on appraisal of the Village Hall and Fire <br />& Fire Sta. Station site, stating that-the appraisal board of three, as <br />site appraisal authorized by the Village and the University, had valued the <br />property as farm residence at X2,500.00 and for business or <br />commercial use at X9,000.00. After the Council had discussed <br />the appraisal and action to be taken, Rekstad moved payment of <br />the bill of Roy E, Hilton, as appraiser appointed by the Village, <br />amounting to X50.00, and one-half of the appraisal bill of C. C. <br />Beeth, amounting to X25.00, being the share the Village agreed to <br />pay. Seconded by Shavor and carried unanimously. <br />Proposed Fruit Mitchell Sills, 3418 Emerson Avenue So., Minneapolis, appeared <br />& Vegetable before the Council in behalf of application by Raymond Patrick, <br />Drive-In Harry Brooks and Mitchell Sills, to operate for a test period an <br />outdoor fruit and vegetable market on property at the northsest <br />corner of Larpenteur and Snelling owned by the Hermes Floral Co., <br />with the id ea of purchasing the property and establishing a shopp- <br />ing center if the test proved successful. After discussion with <br />the C©uncil as to licensing requirements, Mr. Sills asked that <br />action be postponed until he ~ could consult with his business <br />partners. <br />Deluge The Clerk presented competitive bids received on Style 490, <br />nozzle Akron Juni©n Multiversal portable deluge nozzle with clapper <br />valve Siamese and with window ledge and coping attachment. Bids <br />were as foll®ws: <br />D. J. Woll, $441.65 <br />Euel Equipment Co., $350.59 <br />A.H. Halvorson, $325.00 <br />Shavor m®ved th at the lowest bidder, A. H. Halvorson, be given <br />the order. Seconded by Stewart and carried unanimously. <br />Traffic Letter w as read from the Secretary, Grove East Association, <br />Sign, Hoyt requesting traffic signs at the intersection of Hoyt Avenue <br />Ave. in and B Street, in gniversity Grove East, due to the large number <br />Univ. Grove of children in this area. After discussion, Shavor moved that <br />East. the Street Commissioner have two signs installed on Hoyt Avenue <br />at B Street, sub3ect to approval of the State Highway Department. <br />Stewart seconded and motion carried unanimously. <br />Proposed The Clerk read a letter from Postmaster Van Dyke advising that <br />Post Office the matter had been referred to an inspector for further study <br />and that the Pillage would be advised of his recommendation as <br />soon as received. <br />
