r <br />~~~. <br />Village Stewart moved that the firm of Briggs, Gilbert, Morton, Kyle <br />Attorneys ar~d Macartney, of St Paul, Minnesota, be engaged as attorneys <br /> for the Village. Seconded by Lindig and carried unanimously. <br />Treasurer's On advice from the Falcon Heights State Bank that in the <br />Bond absence of special authorization f t was a rule of said bank <br /> that no oh ecks payable to an officer or treasurer of a <br /> corporation, including municipal corporations, as such would <br /> be cashed by the bank, but that such checks would have to be <br /> deposited in the corporation account in the bank and the <br /> money withdrawn in the usual manner, Attorney Graham stated <br /> that a treasurer's bond of X1,000.00 would be adequate in <br /> his opinion. Lindig then moved, seconded by Stewart, that <br /> the Treasurer's bond be Fixed at (1,000 and that the Treasurer <br /> be directed to secure said bond from the St Paul Mercury <br /> Indemnity Company. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Posting places On motion by Henry, seconded by Lindig, the following posting <br /> places were designated by unanimous vote: <br /> (1) Blomberg's Store, Iowa. and Hamline Avenues <br /> (2} National Tea Store, Largenteur and Snelling Avenues <br /> (3) Gibbs School, Cleveland and Larpenteur Avenues <br />Election hours Stewart moved, seconded by Henry, that the polls at Village <br /> elections be kept open from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. <br />Council Meetings Henry moved that regular meetings of the council be held <br /> on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month in the. <br /> Village Hall, beginning at 7:30 P.M., with provision that if <br /> the meeting date falls on a legal holiday that the meeting be <br />. held on the next secular day. Seconded by Lindf g and <br /> carried unanimously. <br />Safety deposit Rekstad moved that the Village continue renting a safety <br />box deposit box at the Falcon Heights State Bank at a rental oP <br />X6.00 per year.. Hen ry seconded and motion carried un- <br />animously. <br />weea <br />Commissioner Lindig moved appointment of Dirk Postema as Weed Commissioner <br />of the Villa ge for 1952. Seconded by Henry, carried unanimous- <br />ly, and Postema declared duly appointed to office. <br />Village Assessor On lotion by Henry, seconded by Rekstad, it was voted unanimously <br />to recommend that William Torgerson serve as Village Assessor <br />for the year 1952. <br />Street Commissioner Henry moved appointment of G. S. Seaborn as Village Street <br />Commissioner for 1952. Seconded by Lindig, motion carried <br />unanimously, and Seaborn declared duly appointed to office. <br />
