250 <br />Recessed & The meeting recessed at 8:30 P.Y. and reconvened at 10:10 P.Y. <br />reconvened <br />Congregational Building Inspeotor Reichow reported that the Congregational <br />Church bldg. Church is considering erection of a new building at Pascal and <br /> Holton. It is, Reiehow said, proposed to finish and utilize <br /> the basement portion for awhile and to complete the upper <br /> structure at a later date. when the new building is completed <br /> it is planned, he said, to tear down the present church <br /> structure and to utilize the space for parking. Before passing <br /> on question of a special permit for a basement structure to <br /> begin with, it was suggested that an informal meeting be held <br /> to determine how many residents favor or oppose the proposal. <br /> The question as to what the setback should be for the new build- <br /> ing was referred to the building inspector. <br />Heating In reporting on check of the heating system, Rekstad said that <br />plant leading from a two-inoh pipe from the main furnace there were <br /> seven one-inch pipes, three of which lead to the auditorium <br /> and lift the water approximately 12 feet. He said capacity of <br /> the two-inch peps is not suff iaient to p rovide the water <br /> necessary to heat the auditorium properly. The clerk will ask <br /> Fire Department Committee Chairman Hustrulid to contact Rekstad <br /> regarding the matter. <br />University Treasurer Van Hoven read a letter from T.L. O'Hearn, Real Estate <br />lease Manager, University of Minnesota, returning check 1004 for X15.00, <br />.lease payment. The clerk was instructed to file the letter <br />and check in the Village safety deposit box. <br />To publish Lindig moved that the clerk be authorized to publish the 1951 <br />Financial Village Pinanei~l statement in The Rose Tribune. Seconded by <br />statement Hen ry and carried unanimously. <br />Fire Chief's wags on motion by Lindig, seconded by Rekstad, referred to <br />annual report the Fire Department conunittee. <br />and inventory <br />Civilian Mayor. Henry reported that the Civil Defense committee met at. <br />Defense the Village Hall, January 24th, with an attendance of 18. The <br />meeting was held, he said, to formulate plans for the organization <br />of auxiliary fire and police departments. falter Randt heads the <br />Civilian Defense organization and Mrs. Earl Hanscom is in charge <br />of the women's division. Training for each department will <br />start soon. <br />Public Safety Letter from Yr. Darrell, of the State Highway Department, regard- <br />ing safety improvements made in the Village in 1951, was read <br />and referred to Public Safety Committee Chairman Arndt. <br />Apportionment Letter of January 8 from County Auditor was noted, showing <br />road & bridge amount apportioned to Falcon Heights from County road arxi <br />fund bridge fund for 1952 , amount s to ~2 , 210.13 <br />
