29~~ <br />Alleys Mr. Carley then spoke on the work to be done on the alleys, the <br />types of surfacings proposed and costs per front foot for each <br />alley. An informal discussion followed, in which property owners <br />present took part. hSr. Carley was called on to answer questions <br />regarding drainage, surfacings, engineering fee, amount set up as <br />a contingency fund, etc. The methodso£ assessing affected properties <br />was explained by Attorney Graham. In answer to a question regarding <br />improvement of alleys in Hollywood Court, these property owners were <br />advised as to procedure provided for by statute. They were also <br />informed that some time might be saved if they wished to contact the <br />contractor doing the grading and surfacing of the seven alleys with <br />the idea of working out a deal with him on their own. <br />Alleys Description of each of the seven alleys was read and the number of <br />affected property owners on each who were present at the meeting <br />was determined, the total being 26.
