D~ <br />Rekstad On motion by Shavor, seconded by Lindig, the following <br />resolution resolution was adopted unanimously - <br />WHEREAS, Clarenoe Rekstad was elected to the office of Trustee <br />of the Pillage Council of the Village of Falcon Heights, and <br />served Prom January 1, 1950 until December 31, 1952, and <br />WHEREAS, during his term of office he has given generously of <br />his time and effort to matters affecting the Village, and <br />WHEREAS, he has taken a special interest in the organization <br />of a Village Parks and Playgrounds Department, in addition to <br />initiating and directing Village "Tenn-Age" recreational <br />activities, <br />NOW, THEREFOR, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Village Council of <br />the Village of Falcon Heights for themselves and the residents <br />of the Village, hereby expresses its appreci ation and thanks to <br />Clarenoe Rekstad for his services in the interest of the Village, <br />and that the Council present a copy of this resolution to him. <br />Presentation Mayor Henry on behalf of the Council. presented Mr. Rekstad, who <br />of resolution was present, with a copy of the resolution and thanked him for <br />his services in the interest of Faloon Heights. <br />Load Limit <br />Resolution On motion by Stewart, seconded by Henry, the following resolution <br />was introduced and adopted by a unanimous vote: <br />WHEREAS, the Village Council hereby finds that the streets and <br />highways in the Village will be seriously damaged by reason <br />of deterioration, rain, snow or climatic conditions unless the <br />use of vehicles thereon is restricted; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that all streets in the Village <br />of Falcon Beets be posted under the provisions of Ordinance <br />No. 21 to provide that no vehicle having a gross wei g~xt on any <br />single axle exceeding three (3) tons may be driven on the streets <br />and highways in the Village on and aft®r Thursday, Maroh 12, 1953, <br />until .further notice. <br />Mileage - Fire Chief Swanson was asked for further information regarding <br />Fire Chief inspections made in Falcon Heights and Lauderdale in February, <br />totaling 407 miles. Swanson stated that the February insp actions <br />were necessary on account of the snow storm, also because of new <br />personnel in the department. After discussion, Swanson was asked <br />to clear with the Village Clerk for Council authorization before <br />exceeding the $12.50 per month mileage maximum in the fixture. <br />1 <br />1 <br />Sahifsky Letter of February 24, 1953, from Thomas A. Schifsy & Sons, relating <br />dump to use of their dump at 3980 North Victoria Street, was read. <br />The @DHrk was directed to write Schifsy & Sons, stating that the <br />Village does not operate a refuse collection service, and that if <br />refuse is being hauled from the Village to their dump by private <br />parties, that it is the privilege of T.A. Sohifsy & Sona to charge <br />and to make their own collection at the time for the service. <br />
