Fire Equipment Fire Chief Swanson appeared at the meeting to answer questions pertaining to the hose clamp, Jumbo mystery nozzle and fire hose, purchase of which had been recommended by the Fire Department committee. To advertise After discussion, Lodahl moved that the Village advertise For Fire hose for bids Por 500 feet of 22" fire hose according to specifi- cations. Seconded by Stewart and motion carried unanimously. Jumbo mystery Lindig then moved that the Village purchase one 22" Jumbo nozzle mystery notale with handle. Seconded by Lodahl and motion carried unanimously. Hose Clamp Stewart moved purchase of one hose clamp. Seconded by Shavor and oarri ed unanimously. Village The D~ayor read an agreement dated May 4, 1953 and signed by dry wells George DaBruszi, stating he would do certain wo rk and black topping aroundti''~wo Village dry wells at Idaho and Snelling, labor and materials not to cost the Village in exoess of X100.00. Stewart moved that the work be done by Mr. DaBruzzi as stated. Seconded by Lindig and so ordered. Streets Street Commissioner Seaborn reported on work being done in the way of repairing the streets. He also reported raising of load limits on Village streets to 4 tone per axle load. Load limits After discussion, Lindig moved that the load restrictions imposed by resolution adopted Marsh 10, 1953, be removed effective May 20, 1953, and that signs be removed at that time. Henry seoonded and motion carried unanimously. Civilian Defense Letter was read from Mary L. Kruglak, Falcon Heights divi3ian budget defense director, requesting X240 for budget year to provide local civilian defense emergency supplies. Attorney was asked to check the statute to see if the Village may properly incur such expense. Fire Dept. Lindig moved approval of Requisition No. b, covering supplies requisition needed by the Fire Department, excluding the lawn mower item. Shavor seoonded and motion carried. Clerk's requisition On motion by Lindig, seoonded by Henry, requisition No. 4 covering supplies needed for Clark's office, was ordered approved. Budget change The clerk reported on difference of $4,000.00 between the tax levy approved October 9, 1952 and certified to the County Auditor and the Treasurer's 1953 budget estimate. On motion by Henry, seoonded by Lindig, it was voted to ask the Treasurer to change the budget and to place the X4,000 in the general fund.
