3 r~ 1 <br />-Beer and With respect to the bingo permit, Attorney Graham advised the <br />Bingo per- council that the statute governing regulation of bingo games, <br />mite, Fire Sec. 614.054, provides that bingo dames esn be conducted by <br />Dept. religious charitable, fraternal or other associations if the <br />carnival proceeds ~ o not inure to any individual and if the assodiatt~an <br />(cont'd). before conducting the same gives thirty days' written notice of <br />the time and place to the Village Council, and the Village <br />Council does not pass a resolution ob3ecting thereto. <br />Said written request from the Fir® Chief, dated April 27, 1953, <br />for a permit for the Fire Department Relief association to <br />operate a bingo game in connection with its carnival to be held <br />June 12, 13 and 14 at the southeastw corner of Larpenteur and <br />Snelling, was considered and upon motion by Stewart, seconded <br />by Shavor, was unanimously approved. <br />Lauderdale Letter of May 19, 1953, from Helena Gunde rson, Clerk, Village <br />stand-by charge of Lauderdale, was read, advising that the Village Council of <br />increased Lauderdale at a regular meeting May 12, 1953, voted unanimously <br />to accept increase in its fire protection standby charge as <br />per notification from Falcon Heights to $100.00 per month <br />effective June 1, 1953. <br />L.G. 1Nicklund <br />variance request Recommendation of the Village Planning Commission on the <br />Leslie G. ~fficklund variance request was considered. On <br />motion by Henry, seconded by Lodahl, the following resolution <br />was adopted unanimously: <br />RESOLVED, that the recommendation of the Planning Commission <br />in its letter of I~ay 25, 1953, that the request fora variance <br />submitted by Leslie G. Nicklund be granted to permit him to <br />erect his attached garage so that the north wall of said garage <br />will be four f eel south of the northerly line of Mr. Wicklund's <br />lot described as Lot 18, Keller Manor. <br />Bonds Letter of April 28 from Piper, Jaffrey and Hopwood, offering <br />to sell ~o the Village at par and accrued interest to date <br />X5,000 Falcon heights 1.60% bonds due September 1, 1953, <br />was again discussed. Treasurer Van Hoven wai requested to <br />write Piper, Jaffrey and Hopwood that the Village is not in a <br />position to purchase the bonds before maturity. <br />Health The clerk reported receipt of another request from the State <br />" Health Department for the name and address of the Village <br />Health Officer. The request was referred to the Mayor for <br />handling. <br />Hose Clamp The clerk submitted bids from the following companies on <br />a Hydra shut-off hose clamp - <br />Luverne Fire Equipment Co . ...............45.00 <br />Dull Wollp(phoned•by •es ~` ~ . • ~f V~wanson)..~50.00 <br />Shavor moved that the Clerk be authorized to purchase said <br />hose clamp from the Auel Equipment Company at a price of X40.00, <br />delivered. Seconded by Lodahl and carried unanimously. <br />
