2~..ti rQ n <br />Dairy Bar bar operator submit an application for license for consider- <br /> ation at a properly scheduled public hearing. <br />Parks & Clarence Rekstad, 1790 N. Pascal, told the council that he <br />Playgrounds - believes the two dry wells installed on Village property at <br />dry wells. Idaho and knelling drive are functioning as intended. He <br /> requested authority for securing roto tiller to break up <br /> and prepare the grounds for seeding to grass. After discussion, <br /> Shavor moved that Rekstad be authorised to arrange for use <br /> of the roto tiller for the purpose requested, with the under- <br /> standing that total cost to the Village shall not exceed <br /> X100.00. Seconded by Henry and carried unanimously. <br />Larpenteur Attorney Graham suaunarized letter of May 15, 1953, from the <br />Federal aid State Highway Department, requesting the Council to peas <br />route a resolution, designating that part'of Larpenteur Agenu6 <br /> within the Village limits as part of an Urban Federal-aid <br /> route. After discussion, the following resolution was <br /> adopted by a wnanimous vote upon motion by Shavor, seconded <br /> by Stewart - <br /> "BE IT RESOLVED, By the Village Council of the <br /> Village of Falcon Heights, Minnesota, that it approves <br /> designation of that part of Larpenteur Avenue located within <br /> the Pillage limits as part of an Urban Federal-aid route, <br /> and that the Clerk transmit a certified copy of this resolution <br /> to Mr. 0. L. Kipp, ~ssistant Commissioner and Chief Engineer, <br /> Department of Highways, State of Minnesota." <br />Civilian In connection with proposed Civilian Defense budget for the <br />Defense bal~ae of 1953, Shavor moved that the Council authorize <br /> an expenditure up to X240.00 for necessary Civilian Defense <br /> supplies, all purchases to be requisitioned through th e <br /> Council. Seconded by Stewart and carried unanimously. <br />Pedestrian Pedestrian cross-walks in the Larpenteur-Snelling business <br />Cross-walks area with traffic oontrols, were again discussed. Shavor then <br /> moved that the matter be referred to County Commissioner Tony <br /> Schmidt by Trustse Lodahl for further investigation. Stewart <br /> seconded and motion carried. <br />Natural Gas On the question of natural gas, Attorney Graham reported that <br />the League of ~t~nnesota Municipalities has appointed a special <br />oommittee to study arri to report on this matter. "rhe League <br />' is also working on a model ordinance, he said, ancat the <br />Council take no action on the matter until the Northern States <br />Power Company presented a request for installing mains. <br />Beer and In connection with letter of April 27, 1953, signed by the <br />Bingo permits, Fire Chief, requesting that the Fire Department Relief <br />Fire Dept. Association of Falcon Heights be permitted to hold a bingo <br />Carnival game and to sell beex«~nt its carnival to be held on the <br />southeast corner of Larpenteur and Snelling, June 12, 13 and <br />14, 1953. On motion by Shavor, seconded by Stewart, it was <br />voted unanimously to issue the Association an on-sale beer <br />license, at no Pee, to sell bear +~its carnival June 12, 13 <br />and 14, 1953. <br />
