After discussion, Shavor moved that Rekstad be authorised to arrange for use of the roto tiller for the purpose requested, with the under- standing that total cost to the Village shall not exceed X100.00. Seconded by Henry and carried unanimously. Larpenteur Attorney Graham suaunarized letter of May 15, 1953, from the Federal aid State Highway Department, requesting the Council to peas route a resolution, designating that part'of Larpenteur Agenu6 within the Village limits as part of an Urban Federal-aid route. After discussion, the following resolution was adopted by a wnanimous vote upon motion by Shavor, seconded by Stewart - "BE IT RESOLVED, By the Village Council of the Village of Falcon Heights, Minnesota, that it approves designation of that part of Larpenteur Avenue located within the Pillage limits as part of an Urban Federal-aid route, and that the Clerk transmit a certified copy of this resolution to Mr. 0. L. Kipp, ~ssistant Commissioner and Chief Engineer, Department of Highways, State of Minnesota." Civilian In connection with proposed Civilian Defense budget for the Defense bal~ae of 1953, Shavor moved that the Council authorize an expenditure up to X240.00 for necessary Civilian Defense supplies, all purchases to be requisitioned through th e Council. Shavor then moved that the matter be referred to County Commissioner Tony Schmidt by Trustse Lodahl for further investigation. Stewart seconded and motion carried.
