<br />Keller bond Report from the Street Commissioner stated his inspection
<br />ordered showed no damage to the streets from moving the George Keller
<br />returned. home from 1lt07 ~~t. Larpenteur to 1732 N. Holton. On recommen-
<br />dation of the Street Commissioner, Shavor moved that the X500
<br />deposit required of Mr. Keller in this respect be returned to
<br />him. Seconded ~y Henry and so ordered.
<br />Police
<br />complimented Don Arndt, Chairman, Public Safety Committee, read a letter
<br />_\ from Don Olson, County Commissioner, Thief River Falls,
<br />complimenting officer EA,rl Smith for the manner in which he handle
<br />a traffic violation involving the issuing of a ticket s~tant
<br />~~t~~ to Mr. Olsen.
<br />Salaries, John Rysgaard and Henry Dachtera, representing the Volunteer
<br />Fire Dept. Firemen, discussed salaries of our paid firemen compared with
<br />salary schedules in St Louis Park, Richfield, Columbia Heights,
<br />South St Paul and l~fest St Paul.
<br />Fire Dept. In connection with the proposed amendment of the Fire Department
<br />Committee Ordinance; Henry Dachtera's memo was read suggesting that the
<br />members of the committee be mutually agreed upon by the council
<br />and the Fire Department before appointorent. Attorney Graham
<br />advised that the council cannot agree by ordinance to subject
<br />its approval in any way. The council requested that our attorney
<br />so advise Mr. Dachtera by letter.
<br />Gas Letter of September 21, 1953, from Lyle P. Thorsten, 10lt9 N, Avon
<br />Inspector Street, St Paul, applying for position of Village gas inspector,
<br />was read. Fees to be charged were discussed. It was agreed
<br />that Attorney Graham should contact Mr. Schrader, who is in
<br />charge of gas inspections in St Paul, with the idea of securing
<br />names of those Mr. Schrader would recommend.
<br />Clapp Thomsen Letter of September 17, 1953, from Attorney Graham was read,
<br />Maple Knoll advising that the easement agreement in connection with the
<br />easement Clapp Thomsen Knoll Addition was filed in the Register of
<br />Deeds office on September 10, 1953•
