Christensen, 11t1t3 Iowa Avenue hest, appeared before <br />Inspector the council, having been recommended to succeed Howard <br />resigns - Christensen as building inspector, After some discussion, <br />another Stewart moved that the oral resignation of Howard Christensen <br />appointed from the office of building inspector be accepted, and that <br />N.H. Christensen be appointed building inspector for the <br />remainder of the term which runs until the first council <br />meeting in January, 1954. Seconded by Henry and motion <br />carried unanimously. The Mayor then declared ~1. H. Christensen <br />duly appointed to the office of Building 'In~p~c'tor. <br />Building Dwight Reichow, who served as building inspector prior to <br />Inspector's appointment of Howard Christensen, delivered to the council <br />plans a large box containing building plans which he kept on file <br />during his period of office as building inspector. The need <br />for providing space in which to file such plans permanently <br />was discussed. <br />Playground Reichow also inquired if a portion of the playground area <br />skating at Idaho and Snelling could be leveled off so as to hold <br />water for a skating rink. A number of boys, he said, have <br />indicated willingness to assist in preparing the rink. After <br />discussion, the matter was referred to the parks and playground <br />committee. <br />Alley oiling Reichow referred to petitions which were passed around recently <br />and sanding among owners of properties on some of the improved alleys for <br />their approval of oiling and sanding such alleys once a year. <br />Reichow inquired as to whether such alley maintenance could be <br />done on an assessment basis, and our attorney was asked to <br />check the statute in this connection. <br />Teen Alters Don Nelson 1627 Hollywood Court, appeared before the council. <br />in behalf of the Falcon Heights teen agars who wish to resume <br />using the Village Hall twice a month for dances.. After discussion, <br />Lindig moved that the Falcon Heights teen alters be permitted to <br />hold. dances in the Village Hall two Fridays per month between <br />the hours of 7:00 P.M. and 11:00 Paul., with the understanding <br />that when the dancing terminates the teen alters shall restore <br />the hall to its original condition. Seconded by Henry and carried. <br />Hartfiel Mr. R.F. Glsndenring in reporting on the proposed Hartfiel <br />Rezoning rezoning, said that agreement as to conditions had not been <br />reached between Mr. Hartfiel and other interested property owners. <br />Fence on Harry Larsen, 1396 'N. Idaho, appeared. before the council in <br />boulevard connection with his fence extending about four feet out on <br />Village property. After discussion, "=fir. Larsen was informed <br />that the ordinance requires removal of his fence from Village <br />property. It was agreed that Mr. Larsen should do so within <br />the next 20 days. <br />
