442 <br />Legislative IV`ominations for Legislative committee membership were called <br />Committee for and the following were nominated : John Gasink, Ed John- <br />- son, Ralph Van Eoven, Lynn ~;atteson and ~~illiam 1'orgerson, <br /> `T'here being no further nominations, Cartwright moped that <br /> the five nominees as named be appointed to the Vi 11 age <br /> legislative committee, with Lynn i~atteson to serve as Chair- <br /> man. Hustrulid seconded, motion carried unanimously, and <br /> each of said nominees declared duly appointed to office, <br /> It was agreed that the Clerk was to advise each member in <br /> writing of his appointment. <br />Civil Service Stenzinger moved that correspondence, including copy of <br />file to ~'i,ra Village attorney's letter, pertaining to request of the <br />Dept, committee three paid firemen that the Fire Department be put under <br /> Ci vi 1 Service , be referred to the ~'ir e De pa rtment com.c;i t tee <br /> for study and recommerxlatian. Seconded by Cartwright and <br /> motion carried b~; a.,~.~;-vote of the Council. <br /> 3~s <br />Civil Service Shavor moved that the Civil Service proposal far the <br />motion to Fire Department be tabled, Stewart seconded and oration <br />table lost b;y a ~ vote of the eounci.l. <br />Flire Equip- Stenzinger3~oved that statement from the sire Chief <br />menu request recommending equipment needed by the Department for 1954, <br />to Fire Dept. be referred to the Fire D®partment committee for study and <br />committee. re corrunendation. Seconded b~y Cartwright and motion carried <br /> u non imou sly , <br />Inspections On motion by Hustrulid, seconded by Cartwright, it was <br />Lauderdale voted unanimously to refer the matter of Fire Inspections <br />in Lauderdale to .the fire Department committee for <br />recommendation <br />Fire Report after discussion, Shavor moved that he be allowed one hour's <br />and proposed time at a meeting of the council to be called for consider- <br />revised ing approval of the Village financial statement for 1953, <br />ordinance Shavor to use such time to present a report on the r`ire <br />Department and on a proposed revised r'ire Department ordinance <br />Seconded by Stenzinger and motion carried unanimously, <br />Ry, L~press Stewart reported briefly on a proposal for secu ring Railway <br />service :.:xpress delivery and pickup service far the Village.. <br />adjournment: On motion, the meeting adjourned at 12 midnite, <br />tippro~ved . k ____._.___.~._ _.___~_ <br />:~~--- 1 <br />
