<br />?~Reeting called to order at 7: G.0 P.R~t., with roll call recording the following council
<br />members present: Robert E. Stenzinger, Mayor; George J. Shavor, Trustee; Andrew
<br />Hustrulid, Trustee; David P. Cartwright, Trustee; Clyde J. S+ewar+., Clerk, Also
<br />present, Gilliam E. Olsen, Treasurer, and Frank N. Graham, Attorney.
<br />Minutes of the February 2l~, 1954 meeting were then heard and approved as read.
<br />?:iron. Taxpayers Letter and questionnaire from the P:Sinnesota Taxpayers Association,
<br />Association of ?Minneapolis, was read and discussed. The Clerk was asked. to
<br />check with the League of Minnesota Municipalities as to said
<br />Association.
<br />Municipal Letter of February 26 from the League of Minnesota 'Municipalities,
<br />Short relating. to municipal short courses, was read.
<br />Courses
<br />Requisition covering supplies needed by the Fire Department was considered.
<br />No. 25 Hustrulid moved approval of same, seconded by Cartwright, and
<br />so ordered.

<br />Shell Station agr. H.P. 3runcke, 1710 N. Albert, representing residents in
<br />Larp ~ Albert his area, referred to complaints about operations of the new
<br />Shell service station at Albert and Larpenteur, especially as
<br />to its bright lights, ;~°r. Bruncke said the station remained
<br />open from 6:G0 A.~~a. until about 10 o'clock at night, and that
<br />.the station area was used for parking trucks overnight, He
<br />called attention to the increasing number of filline~ stations
<br />in the Village and inquired whether these could not be regulated
<br />by ordinance, Attorney Graham advised that filling stations'
<br />could be regulated as to lighting, and hours of operation, The
<br />?;~ayor reported that after contacting several residents who had
<br />comAlained about operations of the new Shell station, that he and
<br />Trustee Cartwright talked vrith the station operator, 'Mr. Earnest
<br />E. Taylor especially as to parking of trucks, and that. ?~r. '"aylor
<br />was in accord with a suggestion to plant trees so as to screen ov~w~r-,
