r~ n <br />Part-time And BE IT RESOLVED, that the plan for traffic control and <br />police law enforcement be determined by the Public Safety committee <br />according to the needs of the Village; and <br />BE IT RESOLVED, that (1) mileage for patrolling shall be <br />7~ per mile (2) rate of pay shall be X61,50 per hour with <br />a total average of ~~t hours per week for all three officers, <br />(3) Uniforms of oxford gray shall be furnished by patrolmen; <br />badges and arm patches reading "Falcon Heights Police" to <br />be furnished by the Village, together with firearms; and <br />BE IT RESOLVID, that signs reading "Patrolled" be posted at <br />Villa ge entrances; and <br />BE IT RESOLVED, that each officer shall keep a daily record <br />showing; (1) Time on duty with respect to checking in and <br />checking out (2) mileage (3) number and nature of calls and <br />arrests; and that all officers shall turn in daily record, <br />traffic violation tags, etc. to Don Arndt, of the Public Safety <br />committee for transmittal to the Justice of the Peace; and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, ~~~ the commencing date for Village <br />policing be as soon as possible prior to June 1, 1954. <br />Adding Machine Treasurer Olsen reported need in the TreasueEr's office <br />for Treasurer for a small adding machine. After discussion, the Clerk <br />and Treasurer were requested to secure at least three <br />competitive bids on small adding machines and to present <br />same to the council. <br />Meeting time At this point, it was voted unanimous#ly, on motion by <br />extended Cartwright, seconded by Stewart, to extend adjournment of <br />the meeting for 15 minutes in order to complete unfinished <br />business. <br />Major League Shavor reported that he and Trustee Hustrulid had attended <br />Baseball stadium a meeting of some 600 persons in St Anthony Park, St Paul, <br />where it ras voted unanimously to oppose construction of a <br />major league baseball stadium near Como or Cleveland or <br />north of the State Fair grounds. The matter was then dis- <br />cussed, and on motion by Shavor, seconded by Hustrulid, the <br />council by a unanimous vote adopted the following resolution: <br />Resolution: WHEREAS, the council of the Village of Falcon Heights <br />feels that the erection of a baseball stadium for the Cities <br />of Minneapolis and St Paul, at either of the proposed locations <br />west or north of the State Fair grounds, or any other location <br />within the Village of Falcon Heights, would be detrimental to <br />the best interests of the residents of Falcon Heights, the <br />Institute of Agriculture, University of ?~2innesota, a nd the <br />Minnesota State Fair. <br />wTHEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Village council <br />of Falcon Heights be recorded as ppposed to the erection of <br />a stadium at any of the said locations and to the issuance <br />of the necessary building permit and to the required. rezoning <br />of any property proposed to be used for such purpose, and that <br />the Village Clerk be authorized and directed to deliver a <br />copy of this resolution to the Regents of the University of <br />Minnesota prior to their meeting on Friday, May ltt, 1954. <br />
