~) <br />~~ <br />'Need On motion by CArtwrigl~t, seconded by Stenzinger, the matter <br />Inspector of appointing a creed inspector was tabled until our next <br />regular meeting. <br />To advertise Cartwright moved that the clerk be authorized to placer in <br />for Fire hose the May 20, 195l~ issue of The Rose Tribune, advertisement <br />bids for bids on the purchase of 500 feet of 2~r~ d.j. fire hose, <br />such bids as received to be opened June 23, 1954, at a <br />meeting of the council to be held on that date. Hustrulid <br />seconded and motion carried unanimously. <br />Garske retaining Trustee Shavor reported on the meeting held with Mr. J.S. <br />wall proposal Garske, 1576 N. Snelling drive, as per appointment of the <br />Mayor and Shavor as a committee to do so, relative to Mr. <br />Garske~s proposal to put in a retaining wall at the north <br />end of his property, adjoining the Village drainage <br />property at Snelling drive and Idaho, Shavor said that the <br />committee after investigating the matter does not feel that <br />the proposed wall would substantially increase the burden of <br />water on the drainage area, It was tentatively agredd to <br />allow Mr. Garske to construct the retaining wall provided he <br />would agree to protect the Village from any claims by other <br />affected property owners, also from any claims by himself or <br />by any subsequent owner of the property Mr. Garske now owns. <br />The committee was asked to discuss the matter again with Air. <br />Garske on the basis of such an agreement. <br />Certificate of Title Attorney Graham delivered to the Clerk, owner's duplicate <br />to Village Hall Certificate of Title No. 153107, as recorded in Volume 35~, <br />property Registrar of Titles, at page 205, dated April 30, 1954, <br />certifying that the Village of Falcon Heigh is is the owner <br />in fee simple of the West 150 feet of the East 160 feet of the <br />North 283 feet of the Northwest ~ of the Northeast 4 of the <br />Northeast 4 of the Northeast ~ of the Northeast 4 of Section <br />21-29-23. <br />Ordinance No. 27 A proposed ordinance for licensing gasoline filling stations <br />adopted was read and discussed, Cartwright then moved adoption of <br />Ordinance No. 27, AN ORDINANCE LICENSING AND REGULATING THE <br />OPERATION OF GASOLINE FILLING STATIONS. Seconded by Stenzinger <br />and the following vote taken and recorded: <br />Ayes: Stenzinger, Shavor, Hustrulid, Cartwright, Stewart <br />Nays: None <br />Ordinance No. 27 was then declared duly adopted by a unanimous <br />vote and publication of same x~as ordered. <br />I <br />f <br />Part-time Recommendation of the Public Safety committee for apart-time <br />police Village police force was discussed and agreed to on an experimental <br />basis. Stenzinger then moved adoptio:~ of the following resolution, <br />which was seconded by Cartwright and passed by a unanimous vote: <br />BE IT RESOLVED, that the Village of Falcon Heights appoint <br />three part-time police officers as follows: <br />Earl Smith <br />James Waller <br />Henry J. Dachtera <br />
