4 p ~ Because of the Lauderdale mayor's absence, Stenzinger reported <br />O being unable to contact him on the matter of discussion with <br />the Lauderdale council a proposed adjustment of their standby <br />fire protection contract with Falcon Heights. <br />Standby contract, As to timing relay for siren at the fire station, Stewart <br />Lauderdale reported on bid received from Ernie Nelson covering <br />installation with three push buttons, one in office, 1 in <br />Relay -fire sta. dormitory and 1 upstairs, for ~c170.00. Stewart said. he <br />siren. had discussed this matter with John Rysgaard of the Fire <br />Depart~mant committee, who plans to report on other bids.. <br />Fly problem Stewart reported on arrangements that had been made with <br />Fire Station Dr, L. Cutko~ap, Etymology Department, 5t Paul Campus, <br />University of Ivlinnesota, for inspecting the fly problem <br />at our fire station later on in the season when it becomes <br />troublesome, and for trying out a new spray at that time <br />which the Etymology Department is testing. <br />Civil Defense In connection with reporting on Falcon Heights participation <br />director appt. in the recent state wide civil defense operation, the Mayor <br />announced the appointment of George Swanson as Civil Defense <br />director, men's division. <br />Weed. inspection As weed inspector, Stenzinger reported on notifying owners <br />of properties infested with high weeds, <br />To Review Cartwright brot up the matter of asking the Village Planning <br />Zoning plan commission to review the overall zoning plan of the Village <br />with the idea of submitting recommendation to the council, <br />especially with respect to future business expansion on <br />Larpenteur west of Snelling, and so moved. Stenzinger seconded <br />and motion carried unanimously. <br />Park B~ playground Cartwright also brot up the matter of park and playground <br />development. After discussion, Stenzinger moved that Trustee <br />Cartwright be asked to head. a committee of as many residents <br />as possible to study the matter of establishin F parks and <br />playgrounds within the Village and to report back to the <br />council.
